Gregory Peck owned the thoroughbred steeplechase race horse Different Class, which raced in England.^[29]

The horse was favored for the 1968 Grand National but finished third. Peck was close friends with French president Jacques Chirac.^[30]

Peck was Roman Catholic and once considered entering the priesthood.  Later in his career, a journalist asked Peck if he was a practicing Catholic.

Peck answered, "I am a Roman Catholic. Not a fanatic, but I practice enough to keep the franchise."
