Of course not.
If the Church has no authority then there's no reason for it to exist. Here's more fun for you to have: In the earliest age of the Church there were no priests as we now know them, there were only bishops and deacons. Priests were added later to fill in for the bishops as the Church began to grow. So since you seem to hold to primitivism, yippee skippy.
I did not say the Church has no authority to hear confessions. They do. You can confess your sins to a priest. It’s fine and I have no objections to it. But you don’t HAVE to confess your confessions to a priest. Nothing in scripture requires confessions to be made exclusively to priests. God listens to all heart felt prayers. You don’t need any middlemen.
Now your gettin it! God hates the Nocolaitans anyway.
And of course you offer no support form scripture or otherwise, just like the other dozen or so questions you have been asked directly.
This one of Satan's oldest tricks. To direct devotion away from God by introducing another object...the goddess.
The goddess is the mother...Semiramis, Isis, Diana, and on and on.
This is not about Mary.
This is about a demon.
But don't let me stop you...kiss her feet...pray to her.
Why would I ping Metmom when my reply was to YOU? Somehow you apparently lost track of who you were judging. You quoted Iscool, made a joke about a typo "for the records book", then pinged Metmom and me - I don't know why. My Scripture was a kind reminder to be careful about what you judge in others because you will be judged by the SAME measure, as Jesus warned, and also because when you pass judgment, you condemn yourself for doing the same thing.
Now, you are trying to blame Metmom for doing what you claim she is responsible for. She wasn't. If your intent is to laugh about someones spelling or grammar errors, it would behoove you to be more careful of that which you post - including WHO you are criticizing. I find that the tendency to correct and edit others is neither necessary nor desirable on a forum like this. Sooner or later, we will all make mistakes. It's far more important to correct doctrinal errors than be gleeful and gloat over anothers typos.
Neither Adam nor Eve were created "sinless" in the same sense that Jesus was sinless. Adam and Eve were created before the sin "nature" existed as their disobedience was the reason it began and was henceforth passed down to ALL mankind so that all sin:
They were NOT sinless in the sense that they could have avoided disobedience and sin, only that they did not inherit a sin nature like ALL mankind would after them. They certainly proved they had the capability to sin.
Jesus did NOT sin - even though he was born "in the likeness of sinful flesh", because He was God incarnate. This is how He could be the atoning sacrifice for ALL sin, as He had no sin nor did He have the capability TO sin. He did not receive this sinlessness from His human mother. Because Mary was born after our first parents, she is included among those to whom God's word says are under sin. We have the word of God as our guide for what is the truth about the faith. God never revealed that Mary was sinless, neither did He ever hint that it was necessary for her to be in order to give birth to the God/man. We should not go beyond what is written to devise extra-biblical doctrines - especially not those that would contradict other passages of Scripture. We can honor and respect Mary for her faithfulness and courage without inventing novel, or even pious-sounding doctrines which have no basis in Scripture.
Not real strong on reading Comprehension? Please show me where I said any of that.
Interesting opinion, well actually not all that interesting.
Well, you can't complain that I "offer no support from scripture or otherwise", can you?
Given that your opinion is wrong it doesn’t matter if you quote scripture or not.
FReepmails that start with digs at my integrity will not be taken seriously.
Matter of fact, I deleted the mail as soon as I saw it in the first line of the message.
If you have something to say, have the manhood to say it on the open forum.
Catholic’s opinion about Mary’s alleged sinlessness is wrong whether they quote church tradition or not.
Forum rules prohibit “personal” comments. And apparently dealing with the truth is foreign to prots.
Further ist was courtesy freepmail to you. Unlike the non-Catholics I won’t say anything behind someone back that I wouldn’t say right to their face.
Well, if forum rules prevent making it personal, I highly doubt it would be acceptable to the mod if you did it in a FReepmail instead.
I seriously doubt the purpose of FReepmail is to abuse it to bypass the posting guidelines.
I find the claim of it being a *courtesy* freepmail rather unbelievable in light of the comments made about me in it.
I can assure you when I was under attack by FReepmail the RM put an end to it.
