Amazing the way the haters on here question the knowledge of Christian theology of a Catholic priest. Wonder who has the most former training and advanced levels of education in the field. But then again, there are the haters on here that think they know more about Christianity than Fulton Sheen and John Henry Newman. So why should I be surprised.
I've noticed catholics always through out the "hate" word when people either disagree with them or point out where they're wrong on Scripture. Catholics sure seem to have some very thin skin.....sounds a lot like the current occupant of the White House.
Well, then I guess Paul and the early church were haters of Judaism by your definition as they were always ready to offer a defense of the Gospel.
I've met a lot of people with degrees who aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer.
There are some posters on this board who do not have a formal theological training and sure seem to have a better grasp of the Scripture than those who are "educated".
And Obama is a constitutional scholar. Just sayin.
Wisdom comes from fellowship with the Father and His Word. It does not come from studying the reasoning of other theologians. Knowledge leads to pride, which has led to enormous suffering and religious ignorance these last 2,000 years of Christendom. Knowledge can be an asset as in Paul's case, but he was called by God and taught and transformed by Him. That should be the model. I've known many Spirit-filled, called by God ministers, teachers, evangelists, lay people, and theologians who have had a tremendous impact on me, and the world. Unfortunately, I have also known quite a few who had no business attempting to preach/teach. Teaching the Gospel needs to come by revelation, not information. I am much more interested in what is in someone's spirit, rather than their head. If they are led by the Spirit, and not the flesh, they will bear much fruit. (John 15)
Galatians 1:11-12 (KJV)
11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Once a "Catholic priest" posts a comment that says that Protestants give birth to babies around Christmas time so that they can eat them--all credibility is lost.
Newman was a flaming queer...Sheen, who used a stage name was not married nor had any children which makes him fully unqualified to be a bishop...
As typical Catholics they could talk for days about your church history, the fathers of your religion and could even talk about the historical aspects of the bible...
Their forte' was human philosophy which is nothing more than the wisdom of fallen man...
Doesn't matter how intellectual they are...Or how educated they are...What matters is, are they teaching the truth of God's words...
