Archbishop Fulton Sheen once wrote: There are not over a hundred people in the United State who hate the Roman Catholic Church; there are millions, however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church.
I was one of those who hated because of what I wrongly believed about the Catholic Church. The reason I had these beliefs was due to being told what to believe about the Catholic Church from those who were told what to believe about the Catholic Church. No one was willing to find out what the bottom line was concerning the Catholic Church. Everything said about the Church was taken as truth while it seemed no one was delving into what the truth really was.
What about these Catholics? They worshipped Mary. They had a religion but not a relationship with Jesus Christ. They said they believed in God but really their belief couldnt be the same, could it? The Bible says in James 2:19 KJV Thou believest that there is one God; Thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
So do Catholics have a belief such as the devils? When most Catholics are asked if they have been born again or have accepted Christ as their Savior, their main response is I believe in God or I am a good person, or Im Catholic. Also, they have all these rituals, Saints, Statues and what about the Pope is he really standing in for God? Another big item, are they cannibals when they eat the bread and drink the wine during communion? Why do they leave Jesus on the cross, dont they realize Jesus has risen from the dead?

How would one that is as blind as your post indicates have the slightest idea what constitutes belief?
The lost are no judge of belief.
Those that place their nicolaitan’s words above the plain word of God will never gain any understanding.
.
.
I am supremely confident that Verga is aware of the fact that they had different spiritual fathers.
I do not understand the reason for his ruse on this.
.
.
How in your opinion does Genesis 4:1 have anything to do with this?
.
.
SR, are you really that far out?
Do you have to stretch the obvious for drama?
I asked him if his father was Cain’s or Able’s, but he played games with the question. Why he didn’t see what you saw is anybody’s guess at this point, but he went out of his way to dodge spiritual fatherhood completely.
Must be a ‘catholic thing,’ I suppose.
Like you said, you've heard the stories...
Scripture doesn't say much either way but it does give some hints...One of those I'm sure you heard of is the verses posted...It's not impossible that Eve had twins by 2 different fathers since it doesn't speak of Adam 'knowing' his wife for the second child...
There are other scriptures that tend to lead me that way, and again, I could be wrong...
Gen 4:25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
I would not try to convince anyone it is fact as I would not try to convince anyone that it is not...
.
>> “ES is claiming that Cain was the child of the devil” <<
I could ask you if you are demented, or if it is just a catholic thing to disregard “spiritual Fatherhood.”
My suspicion leans toward the latter, but who knows?
You certainly went out of your way to avoid the obvious.
.
Until you can take the average Catholic and 'show' where this person has taken up Jesus' cross and followed in his footsteps, it's clear that those scriptures are foreign to you...You could use yourself for an example...
And in the process of your pat on the back (you must have a sore arm), you completely neglected the gospel of the Grace of God along the way...Course that was a mystery revealed to the (real) church which apparently wasn't revealed to you or your fellow Catholics...
What did their genitals have to do with the sin they were involved in???
.
There are things that we cannot know from what we are told in the scripture, and I have never been tempted to base my beliefs on such questions.
I do realize the possible importance of the question you present, but since I cannot establish it one way or the other, I’ve never dwelt upon it.
I think the postor was looking for a wedge in the never ending battle between Constantine and Yeshua.
.
You said that Cain and Abel had different fathers, YOU NEVER said spiritual, until now.
.
>> “What did their genitals have to do with the sin they were involved in???” <<
.
Especially since all sin is disobedience, thus what the specific act was is of no relevance
..
Absolutely...Anything for a 'gotcha'...I wouldn't have even mentioned my view except that I'm convinced the poster with all the prattle doesn't know enough scripture to take up a legitimate position either way...
.
I asked you if your father was Cain’s or Able’s!
Since your biological father could not be their’s, the question’s intent was obvious.
.
What did their genitals have to do with the sin they were involved in???
Not the question....what did God do to cover the sin of Adam and Eve?
It's a pretty simple answer.
After YOU made the nonsensical claim that Adam was N OPT the father of Cain. You changed the topic. The topic was and is Was Adam the Father of Cain, which is exactly the Question I asked of the non-Catholics on this thread. Quit dodging the question.
Your statement: ES is claiming that Cain was the child of the devil.Cain and Able were not true brothers; they had different fathers.ES is claiming that Cain was the child of the devil.
ES post 713Cain was of his Father, the Devil!
Is this now accepted non-Catholic belief?
If it is what proof is there of this. I just re-read Genesis about 2 weeks ago and don't recall seeing this.
I hope this isn't going to one of those cases where you all close ranks and ignore the elephant in the room.
Which you got from: ES post 713Cain was of his Father, the Devil!
See the quote marks around 'Devil?' And the phrase "of his Father?"
Denotes something different then biological father, in this case "spiritual father"
Many Christians believe we all have a spiritual father. For Christians, it is the God of the Bible. For non Christians it is the devil.
Is this now accepted non-Catholic belief?
Read with proper comprehension, yes by a number of Christians.
Read with misunderstanding of the nuances, no not at all.
I hope this helps...
E-S,
Sorry my post came across as uncaring toward you as an individual.
Christ certainly cares for you and I do too.
Obviously, I will continue to disagree with many of your heretical beliefs, but that doesn’t excuse the shortness of my earlier post. It fell short of the great love of Christ.
I apologize.
Another proclamation that the only Christians that exist are Catholics.
The Catholic church fathers agree.
God doesn't.
He shed His blood as the Man Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
The blood of Christ covered their sins, or actually took them away: as far as the east is from the west.
