Repentance

Conviction of sin is best described in the words:
My sins, my sins, my Savior,
How sad on Thee they fall.
Conviction of sin is one of the most uncommon things that ever happens to a person. It is the beginning of an understanding of God. Jesus Christ said that when the Holy Spirit came He would convict people of sin (see John 16:8). And when the Holy Spirit stirs a persons conscience and brings him into the presence of God, it is not that persons relationship with others that bothers him but his relationship with God Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in your sight
(Psalm 51:4). The wonders of conviction of sin, forgiveness, and holiness are so interwoven that it is only the forgiven person who is truly holy. He proves he is forgiven by being the opposite of what he was previously, by the grace of God. Repentance always brings a person to the point of saying, I have sinned. The surest sign that God is at work in his life is when he says that and means it. Anything less is simply sorrow for having made foolish mistakes a reflex action caused by self-disgust.
The entrance into the kingdom of God is through the sharp, sudden pains of repentance colliding with mans respectable goodness. Then the Holy Spirit, who produces these struggles, begins the formation of the Son of God in the persons life (see Galatians 4:19). This new life will reveal itself in conscious repentance followed by unconscious holiness, never the other way around. The foundation of Christianity is repentance. Strictly speaking, a person cannot repent when he chooses repentance is a gift of God. The old Puritans used to pray for the gift of tears. If you ever cease to understand the value of repentance, you allow yourself to remain in sin. Examine yourself to see if you have forgotten how to be truly repentant.

Prove it.
Most dioceses of the United States require catechists to have a basic course on the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
you then who teach others, do you not teach yourself?

Many protestant churches do something similar for those who wish to become members.Prove it.
Stop evading the question.
MM did I get those in close to the right order?

So please answer the question instead of evading it.
I did. I clearly stated that my statements are based on my perceptions. To answer your follow on questions, as a Deacon in my church, I am responsible for the new members class and have an assigned set of the church membership to engage. I have talked to both old members to solicit their opinions on what education needs to be provided via the adult education. I have also asked new members to gauge where they are in their understanding so that our church can meet their needs as well. I have sat at round tables with other churches and their ministers and support staff who have also expressed the same opinions.

The theory that the OSAS theory is nonsense and dangerous IS not only nonsense it is blasphemous and therefore dangerous because it calls Jesus a liar as well as the Holy Spirit If OSAS were true, Jesus could have accomplished His entire mission on Earth in ten minutes or less....All He had to say was...I am being crucified for the redemption of mankind and the forgiveness of all sin....everyone from now on is saved because I have paid for all sin.
Apostles, you can go back to fishing because there will be no need to spread My work because it applies to everyone whether you believe it or not.....Every one is saved and it doesn't matter what kind of life that you lead....you've been saved....have a good time.

What kind of idiotic tripe are you spouting now??? Do you deny that it is FAITH in Jesus Christ that brings salvation? No, not everyone will be automatically saved because we must accept the gift of God which is eternal life in Jesus Christ. Jesus said to preach the gospel so that ALL may know of the grace of God that brings salvation to all those who BELIEVE.
Sadly, not everyone WILL believe and receive God's gift of grace. They will NOT be saved because they rejected the gift. Others will not be saved because they thought they had to pay for the gift by earning it, meriting it or deserving it - and we can't and don't. By grace are we saved through faith and that not of ourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works lest any should boast.

Scripture is right every time. It's the corrupted Catholic Church interpretation that's wrong. While they were writing it, they should have hade it say what they wanted it to......pathetic.

More specifically, the NT started when Jesus died on the Cross...But Pentecost stands out as a marker... I would post the scripture that proves it but since it is scripture, it wouldn't be authoritative to you you aren't really argueing scripture with Verga are you???

By grace are we saved through faith and that not of ourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works lest any should boast. God sent His son to Earth to redeem mankind....the human race which He created.
Then He decided to add a ton of conditions.....you must know Christ and be aware of His purpose for being here....you must accept His word that He is Who He says He is....you must accept the conditions that He sets for salvation to apply to you....if you think that you should do good works to merit the gift, you don't get it....once you get salvation, you cannot lose it (OSAS)...if you live in a part of the world like China or the Americas or Siberia....salvation issn't for you as a human because you won't hear of Christ for a millenium or so.
For a God who is all forgiving and all merciful, He sure put a lot of conditions on His GIFT of salvation....Basically, for a thousand years or more, only a handful of people were saved....the rest?????...oh well, just their luck not to have been born in Jerusalem I guess...

and remember that other condition
forgive us our trespasses AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US.
so our forgiveness is based on how we deal with other people......actions...good deeds etc.
