Maybe descriptions of Hell are so horrific to keep people from thinking about how hellish popular versions of the Christian Heaven would be—even without Pat Robertson in the mix.
Most Westerners are at least vaguely familiar with the popular Christian version of Heaven: pearly gates, streets of gold, winged angels and the Righteous, with their bodies made perfect and immortal, singing the praises of God forever. What’s surprising is how few people have actually thought about what a nightmare this kind of existence would be.

1. Perfection is sameness.
2. Perfection makes human ability pointless.
3. No thrill of risk.
4. No "animal" pleasures - "food, drink, sleep and sex."
5. No free will.
6. 98% of those in Heaven will be embryos and toddlers (and because they never lived here, they'll be zombies).
7. "Gems and streets of gold" define Heaven.
8. Those in Heaven will either be ignorant of or delighting in the torments of those in Hell.
9. Singing God's praises all the time.
10. Heaven goes on forever - anything without an end gets tiresome eventually.
The natural man can't understand spiritual things, 1 Corinthians 2:14.
She doesn't seem to consider that all the good things He talks of can be expected to be there in some form in Heaven, since they all came from the same divine Mind, but without all of this sin-cursed world's pain, misery and emptiness, which she neglects to talk about.

I guess she is choosing hell instead. That is where the party will be, according to her.
God exists outside space and time, so how could she possibly know? And for God, nothing is impossible. I’d bet we’d be astounded beyond our wildest dreams.
Ignorance of religion is the greatest evil.
Isaiah says Heaven will have the best food and drink. There will be endless time to read everything in the library. Singing God’s praises (with other people who love Him) is one of my greatest joys now.
The author seems to be a bit of a simple-minded bore.

Sounds like she hasn’t really thought things out. We have pleasure from these things because God had decided we will.
Spiders have pleasure having sex with spiders, flies have pleasure eating poop. Can you imagine a fly pontificating on how being a human would be without pleasure because the existence would not involve eating the poop?
Pleasure we have will most likely be things humans have not yet imagined.

I’ll choose Heaven where I will spend eternity next to my love ones and never again think of those that are in hell....as in the case of this author who is ignorant and self-absorbed.
Yeah just for fun, I looked her up and read her bio at Huffington. She’s a caricature/poster child of everything the left is.
Personally I can’t even imagine what my thoughts and wants and needs would be in heaven, one of the silliest things people do is try to imagine whether they will be longing for ice cream, or classical music, or pizza, or their dog, or cotton clothes, in heaven.
I so totally agree with all of that...thought I'd repost it. Indeed, outside of time and space....means we don't even know what "eternity" means in the mind of God. Then there's the particle physics that indicates this existence is just a hologram of the real thing......but that's another topic (kind of).
We will be astounded, of that I am certain.

They are quite silly.
There is an old joke that goes, a man dies and in the afterlife he finds he is waited on hand and foot. Anything he wants, all he has to do is ask and it’s gotten for him.
He says, you know, I wasn’t that good. Why am I here in Heaven.
And one of the servants answers, oh no, you’re mixed up. This isn’t Heaven, this is Hell.
Well, that all sounds good to me because Jesus will be there.

These are stupid human concerns. How can our imperfect human minds comprehend perfection? We won’t need nor want many things that we have on earth. Furthermore, if you love God, then singing His praises is one of the sweetest things. She speaks like someone who hates God and can never understand the joy of Him. I pity her.
I’ve thought of what it being like the author described....forever and forever and forever listening to a choir.

How wonderful it will be to actually see God and be with Him.
I hope she grows up and starts to understand and learns to grow in faith.
