Romans 3:23 23 For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

All have sinned. Of course, starting with Eve’s original sin, except Our Lord.

Right. That includes Mary.

Could you show me where the asterisk is that says "*Except Jesus"? If prots want to take the Bible literally (which they only do when it is convenient), then they are stuck with calling Jesus a sinner.

Jesus was Fully God and Fully HUMAN.

Now if they are willing to make one exception, well then .....

A few chapters didn't make the cut but are still good enough to share. Here's one of them.

And so the most a Protestant can do is tentatively assent to doctrinal statements made by his church, pastor, or denomination, since those statements, being fallible, could be substantively changed at some time in the future.

Thank GOD that Catholicism has not CHANGED any at ALL!

Luther pioneered this idea when he asserted that popes and Church councils had erred.

Uh...

Just why on earth would any 'councils'; be needed; if everything the 'church' was teaching was correct?

Just why on earth would Revelation Chapters 2-3 been written, if everything the 'church' was teaching was correct?

-Saith Jesus, never

-Saith the Bible; FOREVER...

Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

John 6:28-29
Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?
Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

1 John 3:21-23
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.
And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

She’s just doing this for our (prots) own good.

Show us where we’re wrong.
Show us the way back to the True Church.

As a Catholic, I think:
1. this article on FR is not going to convince anyone either way. It's only going to cause animus. Hence I don't see the point of it either way -- in fact it will just cause fighting with no real gain. As a Catholic I would like an article to convince people but on FR that is difficult to do and in a directly combative article is not possible

2. This article on catholic.com would make sense as that website is aimed at Catholics or people who want to become Catholic, so a provocatively titled article would cause at the worst a sense of "let's debate" rather than "let's fight" -- the latter is the case on FR's RF

3. The book makes sense as it will join a myriad number of books on every side, so people reading it will think through an answer

On FR, we'll get nowhere with this. On the contrary, it will lead to a mud-slinging competition with no win, but only Christianity losing and Christ weeping.

Don't get me wrong -- I like a debate with a point and I am firmly convinced of my beliefs (as I'm sure Elsie, Mamab and caww are of theirs), but this won't happen here.

In the treatise he argues that their synagogues and schools be set on fire, their prayer books destroyed, rabbis forbidden to preach, homes razed, and property and money confiscated. They should be shown no mercy or kindness,[2] afforded no legal protection,[3] and these “poisonous envenomed worms” should be drafted into forced labor or expelled for all time.[4] He also seems to advocate their murder, writing “[w]e are at fault in not slaying them”.[5]

This guy is awesome.

Thank GOD he was never up high enough in the Good Ol' Boy network to be voted POPE!!!

These guys 'b' awesomer!!!

Pope Stephen VI (896–897), who had his predecessor Pope Formosus exhumed, tried, de-fingered, briefly reburied, and thrown in the Tiber.[1]

Pope John XII (955–964), who gave land to a mistress, murdered several people, and was killed by a man who caught him in bed with his wife.

Pope Benedict IX (1032–1044, 1045, 1047–1048), who "sold" the Papacy

Pope Boniface VIII (1294–1303), who is lampooned in Dante's Divine Comedy

Pope Urban VI (1378–1389), who complained that he did not hear enough screaming when Cardinals who had conspired against him were tortured.[2]

Pope Alexander VI (1492–1503), a Borgia, who was guilty of nepotism and whose unattended corpse swelled until it could barely fit in a coffin.[3]

Pope Leo X (1513–1521), a spendthrift member of the Medici family who once spent 1/7 of his predecessors' reserves on a single ceremony[4]

Pope Clement VII (1523–1534), also a Medici, whose power-politicking with France, Spain, and Germany got Rome sacked.

So, the Holy Spirit has founded 40,000 Protestant churches?

I just LOVE the smell of red herring in the morning!

Romans 11:4

"Oooh look! The latest in anti-Catholic porn, so pathetically typical of FR lately."

"Oooh look! The latest in Praise to the Blessed Mary, so wonderfully typical of FR lately."

Bernadine: …all gifts, all virtues, and all graces are dispensed by the hands of Mary to whomsoever, when, and as she pleases. O Lady, since thou art the dispenser of all graces, and since the grace of salvation can ONLY come through thy hands, OUR SALVATION DEPENDS ON THEE.

Bonaventure: …the gates of heaven will open to all who confide in the protection of Mary. Blessed are they who know thee, O Mother of God, for the knowledge of THEE is the high road to everlasting life, and the publication of thy virtues is the way of ETERNAL SALVATION. Give ear, O ye nations; and all you who desire heaven , serve, honor Mary, and certainly you will find ETERNAL LIFE.

Ephem: …devotion to the divine Mother…is the unlocking of the heavenly Jerusalem.

Blosius: To the, O Lady, are committed the KEYS and the treasures of the kingdom of Heaven.

Ambrose: …constantly pray ‘Open to us, O Mary, the gates of paradise, since thou hast its KEYS.

Fulgetius: …by Mary God descended from Heaven into the world, that by HER man might ascend from earth to Heaven.

Athanasius: …And, thou, O Lady, wast filled with grace, that thou mightiest be the way of our SALVATION and the means of ascent to the heavenly Kingdom.

Richard of Laurence: Mary, in fine, is the mistress of heaven; for there she commands as she wills, and ADMITS whom she wills.

Guerric: …he who serves Mary and for whom she intercedes, is as CERTAIN of heaven as if he were already there…and those who DO NOT serve Mary will NOT BE SAVED.

Anselm: It suffices, O Lady, that thou willest it, and our SALVATION is certain.

Antoninus: …souls protected by Mary, and on which she casts her eyes, are NECESSARILY JUSTIFIED AND SAVED.
