Francis welcomes in private audience same-sex "couple": transexual "former woman" and "wife"

Spanish periodical Hoy reveals the private meeting in the Vatican of "Diego" Neria Lejárraga, a woman from Plasencia, Spain, and her "wife".

Excerpts:

The Blessed Encounter between Francis and Diego

The Pope welcomed Saturday in the Vatican a Plasencia native who has felt outside the Church since he [sic] was submitted to a gender-reassignment surgery ...

"I would have never dared before, but with Pope Francis, yes; after hearing him in so many interventions, I felt that he would listen to me." Diego Neria Lejárraga is a 48-yearold native of Plasencia [Western Spain], who was received on Saturday [January 24] by Pope Francis in a meeting that was strictly private - as so many of the Holy Father - in his residency of Santa Marta, in the Vatican, at 5 p.m. An exceptional moment for any believer, for thousands of citizens around the world, and unique in the life of Diego. Because now his spirit is in peace.

...

Since the person who he loved most in the world, his mother, "the soul of my life", asked him not to change his body while she lived. "And I would wait a thousand and one lives for her." He took care of her during the last years of his life, and, one year after her death, when Diego turned 40, he finally took the step: he contacted a plastic surgeon and started changing his body. ...

Diego asked the Holy Father if, such as he is today, following his gender-reassignment, there is any place in the house of God for him. And Pope Francis yesterday [Saturday] embraced him in the Vatican. In the presence of his wife [sic], with whom he will form a family soon.

Today his spirit is in peace.

Excuse me but just last week he compared the homosexual agenda to Naziism. I seriously doubt this week he turned around and gave approval to this “couple”. It’s just not reasonable to believe that unless one believes he’s crazy or pure evil!

4. It is one of the cleverest devices of the Modernists (as they are commonly and rightly called) to present their doctrines without order and systematic arrangement, in a scattered and disjointed manner, so as to make it appear as if their minds were in doubt or hesitation, whereas in reality they are quite fixed and steadfast. For this reason it will be of advantage, Venerable Brethren, to bring their teachings together here into one group, and to point out their interconnection, and thus to pass to an examination of the sources of the errors, and to prescribe remedies for averting the evil results.

I don`t know any thing about the salvation end of it but he is deranged and should not be a member of any church.

Even liars or adulterers or deceivers could not be members of the church.

Acts 5 1 to 5
I cor 5 1 to 8

These people are deranged and maybe God will take that in to consideration I have no idea.

Sure, promise the moon but you only waited a YEAR! Mamma didn’t want you mutilating your body, period. Sentimental nonsense drives much error.

Meanwhile there is no place in the Catholic "house of god" for simple people who interpret the Bible literally.

What a screwed-up religion.

Your balanced and rational analysis is appreciated.

But, and it's a big but, one key responsibility of any leader of anything is to make sure he doesn't look foolish, and by extrapolation, to make sure his followers don't look foolish.

This looks, IMNVHO, very foolish. It also reeks of unprofessionalism. This would, or might have been, a commendable private interaction, followed by a public "teaching moment," to answer the questions I and many others might have about it.

The Borgia Popes would have handled it in a much better manner.

“...simple people who interpret the bible literally...”

Only up to a point: the most important passages are conveniently “symbolic”:

John 6:52. Metaphor? No: see 6:67

On topic: This pope is out of control, a marxist plant. Popes are fallible men. The magisterium’s purpose is to protect authentic catholic doctrine, and this Pope is a fail. However, he has not spoken ex cathedra so the Church’s correct doctrines will survive beyond him, as the bible says - the gates of hell shall not prevail.

.....simple people who interpret the Bible literally.

Christians of all denominations seek guidance from their pastors and ministers in literally interpreting the Bible. That's why there are churches for people who read the Bible for themselves.

The Catholic church is a central authority. No doubt about that. OTOH, there would not be a Bible as we know it today, if the Catholics had not preserved it, even if they did not exactly encourage everyone to read it for themselves! (Or worse, punish them!)

Don't knock the team our ancestors used to play for just because we've moved on to another league.

” OTOH, there would not be a Bible as we know it today, if the Catholics had not preserved it, “

Aren’t you forgetting the Greek texts of Byzantium? They are the source texts for most modern Bibles.

If he stayed a man, he could make children naturally with his wife.

The weird part is saying he has the change his body to that of a woman but retains his interest in women, hence a wife. So he wants to change his gender, but hasn’t changed the sexual orientation, a preference toward the opposite/female sex.

It could not be meant literally. Jesus was physically present, in His body, both before and after His death and resurrection, and could have given people from His literal flesh and blood to eat and drink, and He didn’t. That would have been the literal meaning.

Maybe “he” actually had a good Confession with the Pope and realizes the error of “his” ways.

Then why would he still be planning to have a family with his "wife"?

It sure looks that way, they can just do their thing and go to church and belief in Christ don`t matter.
