Did Luther start the church you say was named for him? No, he didn't. And, JFTR...my comment had to do with Roman Catholics who REMAIN in the RC church - those to whom it was claimed are not really Roman Catholics but "Protestants". For a FRoman Catholic to imagine they can brush off all those they see as CINOs into the bucket they label "Protestant" is more than silly, it's nonsense. Neither Calvin nor Luther would have abided pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, Liberal members like the RC church does.
I, for one, have no problem with the way Lutherans worship. In fact I worshipped at a Lutheran church for a year because there was no Reformed option.
The difference between them and Roman Catholicism is like day and night. They preached Sola Fide, they didn't believe in transubstantiation and Mary was not trotted out as Co-Redemptrix. Pretty significant differences.

The doctrine Catholic Church does not “abide” or allow or whatever you want to call it, homosexual pastors preaching with their “husband” sitting in the front pew and never will. The Catholic Church does not “marry” homosexuals and never will. The Catholic Church does not have women preaching the gospel and never will. The Catholic Church believes in no abortion for any reason and will never condone the murder of the unborn. Don’t bother me with someone who calls themselves a Catholic that does not abide by the teachings of the faith and I will not mention the names of the faiths that allow all the above wickedness and immorality and openly promotes it. But here’s a clue for you. They’re all protestant.
