The Absurdity of Separated Brethren
Before Protestants were "separated brethren"...
Q. Does the Lord make use of apostate Catholics, such as Martin Luther, Calvin, John Knox, Henry VIII., King of England, to reform the manners of the people?
A. The thought is absurd. The lives of those men were evil, and it is only the devil that makes use of them to pervert the people still more. The Lord makes use of His saints, such as a St. Francis of Assisium, a St. Dominick, a St. Ignatius, a St. Alphonsus, to convert the people and reform their evil manners by explaining to them the truths of faith, the commandments, and the necessity of receiving the sacraments with proper dispositions, and by setting them in their own lives the loftiest example of faith, purity, and all Christian virtues.
Q. Are there any other reasons to show that heretics, or Protestants who die out of the Roman Catholic Church, are not saved?
A. There are several. They cannot be saved, because
1. They have no divine faith.
2. They make a liar of Jesus Christ, of the Holy Ghost, and of the Apostles.
3. They have no faith in Christ.
4. They fell away from the true Church of Christ.
5. They are too proud to submit to the Pope, the Vicar of Christ.
6. They cannot perform any good works whereby they can obtain heaven.
7. They do not receive the Body and Blood of Christ.
8. They die in their sins.
9. They ridicule and blaspheme the Mother of God and His saints.
10. They slander the spouse of Jesus Christ :the Catholic Church.
Q. What is the act of faith of a Protestant?
A. O my God, I believe nothing except what my own private judgment tells me to believe; therefore I believe that I can interpret Thy written wordthe Holy Scriptures as I choose. I believe that the Pope is anti-Christ; that any man can be saved, provided he is an honest man; I believe that faith alone is sufficient for salvation; that good works, and works of penance, and the confession of sins are not necessary, etc.
Q. Have Protestants any faith in Christ?
A. They never had.
Q. Why not?
A. Because there never lived such a Christ as they imagine and believe in.
Q. In what kind of a Christ do they believe?
A. In such a one of whom they can make a liar, with impunity, whose doctrine they can interpret as they please, and who does not care about what a man believes, provided he be an honest man before the public.
Q. Will such a faith in such a Christ save Protestants?
A. No sensible man will assert such an absurdity.

You realize that was a response to #52, not that you would ever let that get in the way. All I see from Catholics on religion threads is vile and nasty attacks against non-Catholics, against we infidel dogs. You might as well start issuing fatwas.
(sorry but this is going to ramble on and on because these attacks on Christians makes me mad)
Somehow those who follow Jesus and believe in HIM aren’t good enough for you. They must bow down to totems, idols, relics, ancestors, dead mortal humans, 45,000 dead people who aren’t Jesus are prayed to, pick a “saint”, they come in many flavors. No, the followers of Jesus and his WORD aren’t good enough, they must become part of a bureaucratic nightmare that worships tradition, sends up pink smoke from Rome and what-not.
Meanwhile Jesus and HIS word becomes an ever smaller and less important part of what you call your “faith”.
............
At least I do not put 45,000 “saints” ahead of Jesus
Catholicism has many many flavors too, if you were not too BLIND to notice. You have your myriad groups and factions, some all-out socialists. You claim to be the one “true” church but it seems like everyone prays to a different “saint” to bug Jesus for them, since Jesus is hard of hearing or something. Who needs protestantism when you can have your choice of “saints” (who are dead mortals and nothing more)
As a matter of fact every insult and accusation thrown at “prots” and “protties” and “filthy mongrels” fits the Catholic Church just as well. That’s all.
The Catholic Church, home of the 45,000 flavors and the so-called “45,000” protestant denominations can be equated quite easily. “But they aren’t real Catholics” you say, but you refuse to hear “Those aren’t real Christians” on the non-Catholic side.
Can you not open your eyes to see and your ears to hear? Not me, see and hear yourselves. Catholics on FR have become a closed feedback loop, whatever blasphemy has become accepted “tradition” is good because it’s Catholic and all else is wrong.
Where Catholicism and the Bible differ, the Bible is wrong. Where Catholicism and Jesus differ, Jesus must be wrong too. If the Pope hails the Anti-Christ then those who deny the Anti-Christ will be your new heretics.
..............
..................
At least I do not believe that dead mortal humans are more powerful than Jesus
“intercessors”... lol
Is your Jesus hard of hearing?
Oh wait, this is a church that thinks “tradition” is sacred. Hey, it ain’t Biblical but we’ve been doing it for so long it’s tradition now!
Put away your totems, your traditions, your devotion to “saints” and the biggest human “religious” bureaucracy ever, and have a good, long think on Jesus and his WORD. Just that.

It’s irrelevant what the RCC teaches when its adherents don’t follow it and vote liberal and espouse contrary beliefs.

Let me fix your statement. You realize that was a response to #52, not that you would ever let that get in the way. All I see from Catholics Non-Catholics/Protestants on religion threads is vile and nasty attacks against non-Catholics, Catholics against we infidel dogs. You might as well start issuing fatwas. Careful about throwing those stones.

>>So how do Catholics excuse all the finger pointing?<<
Those “Catholics” are protestants, not unlike Luther and Calvin. I hope you welcome them with open arms.

Those Catholics are protestants, not unlike Luther and Calvin. I hope you welcome them with open arms. Don't be a hypocrite.
Don't demand that Prots own all those who support liberal causes and disown all the Catholics who do.
As long as the Catholic church refuses to take action in denying them communion and considers them members and and gives them Catholic funerals, as they did for Kennedy and Chavez, then they ARE yours whether you like it or not.
It is not up to the laity to determine who is Catholic and who is not. Or is that your own personal interpretation of the CCC?

When your Catholic church starts ex-communicating practicing or non-practicing Catholics who support abortion and homosexual marriage, get back to me.
Until then, they’re yours and the laity has no say in the matter.
They aren’t not Catholic based on your or anyone else’s OPINION.

Anyone who ever says Allah and God are the same is not a Christian. That is one of the greatest blasphemies.

Fortunately,God has protected most of his word from the catholic church.
The majority of his word was written and archived by the ancient Hebrews. The rest was written and spread around the world centuries before Constantine invented the Satanic cult known as the catholic church.

There were multiple versions of the Hebrew bible before the Catholic Church standardized the canon.
There is no point denying history. May as well just admit that the Catholic Church collected and assembled the bible. Thank us later.

No, there were never multiple versions.
The Masorite text is the only version.
It is and has always been protected from the satanic influence of the catholic church.

Oooh look! The latest in anti-Catholic porn, so pathetically typical of FR lately. In contrast to the anti-Protestant/non-Catholic Christian porn pathetically typical of the Catholic-dominated Religion Forum on a continual basis?

The masoretic text is the continuation of and exact copy of the original writings.
As Paul declared, it is the oracles of God, and is given to his chosen people to preserve, not Satan’t catholic cult.
