The Absurdity of Separated Brethren
Before Protestants were "separated brethren"...
Q. Does the Lord make use of apostate Catholics, such as Martin Luther, Calvin, John Knox, Henry VIII., King of England, to reform the manners of the people?
A. The thought is absurd. The lives of those men were evil, and it is only the devil that makes use of them to pervert the people still more. The Lord makes use of His saints, such as a St. Francis of Assisium, a St. Dominick, a St. Ignatius, a St. Alphonsus, to convert the people and reform their evil manners by explaining to them the truths of faith, the commandments, and the necessity of receiving the sacraments with proper dispositions, and by setting them in their own lives the loftiest example of faith, purity, and all Christian virtues.
Q. Are there any other reasons to show that heretics, or Protestants who die out of the Roman Catholic Church, are not saved?
A. There are several. They cannot be saved, because
1. They have no divine faith.
2. They make a liar of Jesus Christ, of the Holy Ghost, and of the Apostles.
3. They have no faith in Christ.
4. They fell away from the true Church of Christ.
5. They are too proud to submit to the Pope, the Vicar of Christ.
6. They cannot perform any good works whereby they can obtain heaven.
7. They do not receive the Body and Blood of Christ.
8. They die in their sins.
9. They ridicule and blaspheme the Mother of God and His saints.
10. They slander the spouse of Jesus Christ :the Catholic Church.
Q. What is the act of faith of a Protestant?
A. O my God, I believe nothing except what my own private judgment tells me to believe; therefore I believe that I can interpret Thy written wordthe Holy Scriptures as I choose. I believe that the Pope is anti-Christ; that any man can be saved, provided he is an honest man; I believe that faith alone is sufficient for salvation; that good works, and works of penance, and the confession of sins are not necessary, etc.
Q. Have Protestants any faith in Christ?
A. They never had.
Q. Why not?
A. Because there never lived such a Christ as they imagine and believe in.
Q. In what kind of a Christ do they believe?
A. In such a one of whom they can make a liar, with impunity, whose doctrine they can interpret as they please, and who does not care about what a man believes, provided he be an honest man before the public.
Q. Will such a faith in such a Christ save Protestants?
A. No sensible man will assert such an absurdity.

The flaw is to think that someone needs to attend a specific building. Faith in Jesus doesn’t need a building or a denomination.

Christ said you can recognize a tree by its fruit.
The Catholic fruit from Rome at the time of reformation was stubborn lack of repentance that would make Pharaoh blush. Cruel torture and murder was how the Catholic leaders dealt with men like William Tyndale who gave his life to give common men access to the scriptures - something that would never have happened at all if there was no reformation.
It certainly appears that some Catholic promoters even on this forum would love to go back to the days when they could just burn the dissenters at the stake and be done with us.
The new world has been populated by Catholics and Protestants. Countries that have been dominated by Catholicism have turned more and more socialistic. The Protestants (who Catholics incidentally claim are in disagreement and thus prove to be in error) were able to work together and set aside denominational differences in order to form the Greatest Nation ever on this planet.
As Catholics grew in proportion to the population through immigration and are now the largest denomination of Christendom, this nation has experienced greater and greater evil. (Catholics represented less than 2% of the population when this nation formed and are now around 25%.)
Legislators like Nancy Pelosi are freely able to maintain a Catholic identity while promoting the most vile and immoral laws in the history of humanity. Most Evangelical congregations would excommunicate members who do such vile things.
Currently, the Supreme Court contains zero Evangelical Christians, but it does have Catholic representation. This has helped this nation not much more than if Satan worshipers filled those seats.
So, go ahead and mock true believers in Christ. His enemies openly mocked Him also. Fill up the shoes of your father.
Some of us will continue to regard Christ’s words above foolish, man-made traditions and rhetoric, and judge the tree by its fruit.

Douay bible:
The Greatest Commandment (Deuteronomy 6:1-19; Matthew 22:34-40)
28 And there came one of the scribes that had heard them reasoning together, and seeing that he had answered them well, asked him which was the first commandment of all. 29 And Jesus answered him: The first commandment of all is, Hear, O Israel: the Lord thy God is one God. 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God, with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind, and with thy whole strength. This is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like to it: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is no other commandment greater than these. 32 And the scribe said to him: Well, Master, thou hast said in truth, that there is one God, and there is no other besides him. 33 And that he should be loved with the whole heart, and with the whole understanding, and with the whole soul, and with the whole strength; and to love one’s neighbour as one’s self, is a greater thing than all holocausts and sacrifices. 34 And Jesus seeing that he had answered wisely, said to him: Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
Douay-Rheims Bible
John
Jesus Comforts the Disciples
1 LET not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house there are many mansions. If not, I would have told you: because I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I shall go, and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will take you to myself; that where I am, you also may be. 4 And whither I go you know, and the way you know.
The Way, the Truth, and the Life
5 Thomas saith to him: Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.

More than a few have expressed their admiration for, and a desire to bring back the Inquisitions.

Does that require me to believe the following:
1. Allah is God (like Pope Francis)
2. Homosexuality is ok with God (like Pope Francis)
3. Pastors cannot be married, even though St. Peter was married
4. Pedophiles should be protected by the church
5. The Roman Catholic Church has replaced Israel
If so, nope! I will stay a Bible believing Christian waiting for the return of Jesus Christ to earth.

"It certainly appears that some Catholic promoters even on this forum would love to go back to the days when they could just burn the dissenters at the stake and be done with us." It certainly appears that such feelings emanate from your side as well.
"Countries that have been dominated by Catholicism have turned more and more socialistic."
You mean countries like Great Britain (Protestant), Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Denmark (all Protestant), South Africa (Protestant), the Netherlands, Germany...Most countries have socialist, regardless of religious identity.

You have to admit that Christians who left Rome’s orbit were persecuted. Just because I do not believe that the sacraments (bread/wine) are actually Jesus...I do not deserve to be burned at the stake. In the protestant dominated world, we “live and let live”...
