You both gave up Jesus in the Eucharist as you went.

35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. 37 Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and anyone who comes to me I will never drive away; 38 for I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. 40 This is indeed the will of my Father, that all who see the Son and believe in him may have eternal life; and I will raise them up on the last day.”

47 Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. 50 This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

Jesus does not live in a wafer.

He dwells in our hearts through faith.

Ephesians 3:14-19 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Additionally, I have taken communion in the Catholic church, so according to all y’alls reasoning, I already have Jesus already living in me. Plus I was baptized in the Catholic church and Catholics tell me that that’s how one is saved.

I’m good to go then.

First of all, who are YOU to be judging what we have given up or not? What gives you the right to decide what is our hearts? Are YOU God??? No, you are not and the religion you defend as the ONLY true Christian faith, ironically, doesn't agree with you. Check out your OWN catechism sometime. They changed their minds and don't teach non-Catholic Christians will go to hell if they aren't Roman Catholic anymore. Didn't you know that?

The truth is that it wasn't until I was sixteen when I received Jesus Christ as my Savior, believing that he died for my sins, it was really the FIRST time I DID come to Him. All the times in the past that I swallowed the Eucharist, I was doing so in UNBELIEF - I didn't understand that to believe in Christ is how one receives Him and His blood cleanses us from all our sins. I had been taught I had to be good, do all the things I was told, say the right "prayers" and maybe when I died I might go to heaven after a stint in a place called Purgatory where my "minor" sin's punishment was taken out on me. Sure, I believe what I was told about Jesus, I believed He was God's son, that he died on the cross to open the gates of heaven, but that was pretty much it. It wasn't what HE did for me, but what I did for Him, that determined where I spent eternity. But, I found out that I was being taught a false gospel - which was no good news at all!

Finally, instead of condemning Christians for not being Roman Catholic, why don't you recognize that there really ARE genuine believers and followers of Jesus Christ who love Him and live lives that honor and glorify Him outside of your religious choice? Why not read those verses you posted and let the Holy Spirit illuminate the truth to your heart so that you can join other believers who rejoice that because of Jesus Christ, we will never perish, will not be cast out, that we HAVE eternal life, that by our sincere faith we HAVE eaten His body and drank His blood and we join with fellow believers every time we observe the Lord's Supper in remembrance of Him - just like He told us to?
