>> “ Any thoughts on why?” <<
Because his payment for past sins negates the need for further symbolic sacrifice.

The divorce rate is actually much lower than 50%.

Answers the question of the song, “I Can Only Imagine,” eh?

I’ll bite,
what’s the test?
You know, whenever I watch “God and Generals” or “Gettysburg” I do so love that our nation was one of faith and courtesy. This is worse than the Civil War.
If I were to point out scripture verses of Christ speaking about His Church, in the Old Testament and the New, along with the history of the Church and the Bible you would reject those as well.
Yet you believe your private interpretation is correct and mine is wrong. Your stance presents quite a problem, which we are seeing in the world today and what this misguided article is about. The author wrongly attributes misinformation about the Catholic faith and then tries to unite his protestant brethren to his way of thinking.
Never gonna work.
“Some” spirit doews say that. Not the Holy one, though.
1. Jesus, not the Bible, is Gods living and active Word that brings life.
2. The only way to enter the Kingdom of Heaven is through DOING the will of God.
3. Condemnation isnt Jesus style.
4. Youre supposed to sacrifice yourself and speak words of blessings for those you disagree with the most.
BTTT!
And that is exactly what happens all too often. People wouldn't focus so much on works if they understood where the impetus for the works comes from for those truly filled with the Holy Spirit. Focus on a true faith and trust in Jesus with the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the words will come.
That is one of the most pathetic misused statements that I see used. It says that demons believe THAT God is. It says that believers believe ON Jesus the Christ.
Back under the law of works separates you from Christ.
Ok, here’s the test. A few simple questions.
Do you consider yourself more righteous than others? Than most other people? More than some notably evil people like Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Idi Amin - anyone?
Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Jesus was born under the law. We are not.We are born under grace and it's about time you learned that and what it means.
There we go again!
This strawman of justification by the law is leading billions to hell.
It is a distraction from the Gospel preached by Yeshua and his apostles. They all preached Torah as “The gospel of the Kingdom.” That doesn’t mean justification by the law. WE all have prior sin that must be accounted for, and the grace of the Father is the only way that can be.
Torah becomes our way of life if we are truly in him. Yeshua writes his Torah on our hearts if we are his.
To “believe on him” we must have Torah written on our hearts, or there is no way that we will continue in obedience that is required for belief.
One that harbors a belief that they can pay for their sin through following the law makes Yeshua a liar, just as much as one who thinks they can be saved without a life of obedience to the law.
One cannot read James, or John’s first epistle, and come to any other conclusion.
.
Yeshua was born under exactly what every other person that ever lived was born under.
Your statement to the contrary is theology, not the word of God.
Grace was for Adam and all of his descent. Nobody was ever born “under” grace. Grace is not a requirement under which one can be born. The requirement for every man ever born on Earth is spelled out in Ecclesiastes 12:13.
Nothing in scripture says that anyone can find the righteousness needed for justification by following that requirement, nevertheless it is required of all.
Those that think that they can “believe” in Yeshua and dismiss his demands of us is in for a rude Matthew 7:23 awakening at the Great White Throne of Yeshua.
.
I am not dueling with you, how do you reconcile both? THAT is the question.
Believing ON Yeshua is following his every teaching, and living them.
Nothing else is believing on him.
