Robert Service wrote a poem, the opening line of which is "Deny your god!" A man is awakened by savages who plan to kill him, but first demand that he deny God. He reflects that he's never been particularly religious, but he's not going to give them the satisfaction of cringing before them. He rejects their demand. They spare him because of his strong faith.
No guarantee the same would happen to someone who's fallen into the hands of Muslims, but should it ever happen to me, I hope I would have the strength to say "No!"

“He rejects their demand. They spare him because of his strong faith.”
The muslims probably would not spare you for that, but they may respect you for it. There were two ISIS captives recently that were held together. One of them submitted to the ISIS demands to convert to Islam, and the other refused, and stood fast in his Christianity. Afterwards, the muslims denigrated the convert and abused him more, while saying that the Christian was the upright man.

Arthur Conan Doyle wrote a short story, "The Tragedy of the Korosco", about this very dilemma.
And it's just as plain about the danger of Islam, what Churchill called hydrophobia, as anything.
NOTHING has changed.
