This explains my lack of interest in your opinions, interpretations, and protests. You are a Protestant. I am Catholic. I speak from faith. You do not.
Telling people what is says and interpreting are one and the same
No it is not. Observe how I explain James 2 and the Protestant build up complex logical (or seemingly logical) mental constructions to make it look like the verses such as James 2:24 was not there. They are interpreting, and dishonestly. I merely explain what is written.
Faith in what? The only faith I have heard you talk about is faith in the Catholic Church and it's rituals.
>>I merely explain what is written.<<
Explain this.
Romans 4:5 However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness.
And this one please.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
And not to overburden you but this one also.
John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
LOL, there you go again. How wonderfully, and beautifully Christlike. So, you are not interested in my opinions, interpretations and protests? Then I have to ask, why do respond? I think that many of us live in your head. 😄😄😃 So you speak from faith, and I don't? Now you read minds too? That's some talent you have there. You say you don't interpret scripture? Let me think about for a second. OK, I thought about it. Yes you do, and you admitted that you need a priest to interpret scripture, but you try to tell what it means. This is not consistent, and in order to be taken seriously, you must be consistent. You can give me Bible verses, and that is fine, but do not add one single solitary word of commentary, because that is interpretation, and you admitted you are not allowed to do that. Hope to see you at the pearly gates. Have a blessed day sir. I guarantee you I will. 😄
Like you merely explain away all the verses given you that clearly state we are NOT saved by our works but by faith in Jesus Christ? So, it's just you simply explaining "not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy He saved us", doesn't mean what it says. Instead the phrase our "works of righteousness" is speaking of the works of the Law of Moses and how obeying the Law isn't the same thing as performing the good works which MUST be added to our faith so that one day we MIGHT be saved? There is a profound lack of understanding what GRACE is and means in your religion. Grace grants us eternal life which we receive by faith and not according to the works we do. It is why God calls it a GIFT.
