Pitiful indeed. We see all too often that when at a loss to defend their beliefs diversionary tactics are used. I also wonder if they say the same to those women of the Catholic persuasion who post on these forums. Hypocrisy comes to mind.

Or would that be murmuring and backbiting ? If you have a problem with Mrs. Don-O, you can take it up with her husband. I'll ping him for you. As for me, I've not but seen Mrs. Don-O represent herself but under the authority of the Catholic Church, teaching the Catechism of the Catholic Church, which is not dependent on Sola Scriptura, to which Catholics trying to scratch off their baptism would do well to headmen to. Further, she presents the truth with more grace and compassion than anyone else I can think of on the FR RF. I have no doubt she is in obedience to her bishop and brings honor to her husband by her posts here.

Let your women teachers present their credentials, the denominations/sects/faith groups which are sponsoring them and then all can judge whether they believe and obey Sola Scriptura, they are yet another faith group recently formed to do whatsoever they deem right in their own eyes.

The hypocrisy and double standard is almost commical.

Actually, I've seen Mrs Don-O disagree with catholic teaching on this thread. I'll have to dig her comment up on this.

I post very little in the RF, but read a fair amount. I won’t wade into the substance of whatever this latest discussion is. However, as FReepers who possess basic reading comprehension and a modicum of critical analysis skill already know, Mrs is quite well informed and writes with an exemplary combination of precision and grace.

Thanks for the ping. I am a Tennessean and was early on impressed with Andrew Jackson and how he dealt with those who impugned his honor and that of his wife.

What’s that you said about murmuring and backbiting?

Anyone can do that right now by simply reading what someone posts and checking the Scripture reference they give - those who give it, anyway - to see if what they say is so. No different than the noble Bereans Paul commended. Why did you even bring up the passage about women teaching to me if you are perfectly willing to listen to what a woman says as long as she has the "credentials" you approve of? Obedience to God is what matters most of all.

Not a very subtle attempt to get someone to compromise their screen name.
