Paul was converted to Christ - not a church.

By the year 254, the Catholic church had gone through 22 popes., indeed,Paul was converted to Christ and along with Peter, became the foundation for the Catholic church....there is reference to the church as Catholic as early as the end of the first century.....but the official name is not important, it was the group, consisting of Christ and His Apostles which became known as Catholic and just when is irrelevant
