As for the doxology in particular, why would it be so hard to imagine Jesus did actually say it? It would have been the normal way to end such a prayer. Good point. Adding to it, there is a logic that connects "lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil" WITH the doxology. In other words, we WANT to be delivered from the loser evil kingdom BECAUSE the winner kingdom will be GOD'S kingdom that is without end. Don't lead us into temptation but deliver from evil for Yours in the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. So, the so-called 'doxology' is actually a rational completion of a thought.
