There are warnings about worship of idols. Mary and the saints are not idols but real people and we venerate them in full understanding that they are saints with Christ and because of Christ. We do not worship them. We worship Him to Whom we offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. It is not complicated.

The ‘Morning Consecration to Mary,’ cited in post 1022, is very disturbing any way you look at it. As was pointed out, you cannot give yourself in your “entirety” to two different people.
