It doesn't. That's the point. It is meaningless, except as a pagan high day - YHWH's chief enemies ALL were born then: Osiris, Apollo, Marduk, Baal, Tammuz, etc. All of them have been celebrated on the day that begins at dusk, 3 days past the winter solstice, with very much the same baubles and whizzbangs we use today. If there is a day that YHWH wouldn't honor, that'd be it.

Remember, Torah says not to do for Him as the heathen did for their gods, as it is an abomination to him... He remembers what the heathen did, and it makes him sick.
