I believe. That’s the long and short of it. I choose to follow the Roman Catholic Church, established by Jesus Christ while He was on earth, and His Vicar the Pope, who has succeeded in an unbroken line from St. Peter. I believe in the validity of the Holy Priesthood and the 7 Sacraments.
“By their fruits you shall know them,” said the One Whose mother was told in Scripture, “Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb.”
Mary was conceived without the stain of original sin. She was, is, and always will be a virgin. She is Jesus’s mother and ours, given to us from the Cross. She was assumed into Heaven, body and soul, and crowned Queen of Heaven and earth, the Mother of God. This is what I believe as a Catholic and as a person.
All glory is given to God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Mary is not to be worshipped, but honored and loved for her privilege of being the Mother of Jesus.
I believe. I don’t ask you, nor anyone else, to do the same. I do pray that all people, every soul God has created, or will create, may somehow find Him, and that we may all be together one day in Heaven. I just can’t comprehend why Mary, simply as the mother of Jesus can be such a stumbling block. Even if one does not believe the tenets of Faith I’ve mentioned, wouldn’t one at least show respect for her, for her Son’s sake?
St. Paul said that now we see through a glass, darkly, but he also days that one day we shall see things as they truly are. Meanwhile, His children will continue to differ, but let’s always remember the Second Greatest Commandment, per Scripture: Love thy neighbor as thyself!
Peace be with you!

“By their fruits you shall know them,” said the One Whose mother was told in Scripture, “Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb.”

And all believers are blessed by God.

Mary was conceived without the stain of original sin.

Then she didn't need a savior.

And that contradicts other clear teaching of Scripture.

It's fascinating to see the Catholic church ADMIT itself that its traditions have no basis, and to watch people CHOOSE to believe them anyway.

It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

Staggering and hard to believe but you just can't seem to help watching the destruction as it happens.

That someone would bypass the true and sure word of God which is established forever in the heavens in favor of mythology and fairy tales and fables about people is incomprehensible.

I just can’t comprehend why Mary, simply as the mother of Jesus can be such a stumbling block.

Mary, the simple mother of Jesus is no stumbling block to anyone.

The Mary created by the Catholic church is not the same woman as the one who bore Christ.

The only stumbling block is for those who can't understand why someone would not believe all the stuff about her that isn't true in the first place. They're the ones who stumble over people not accepting their fantasies.

Why is it that SO many Catholics here do NOT want to follow the PRESENT pope?

What's THEIR problem?

Chafing under authority?

I'll bet it would be REALLY exciting to follow THESE popes!

Pope Stephen VI (896–897), who had his predecessor Pope Formosus exhumed, tried, de-fingered, briefly reburied, and thrown in the Tiber.[1]

Pope John XII (955–964), who gave land to a mistress, murdered several people, and was killed by a man who caught him in bed with his wife.

Pope Benedict IX (1032–1044, 1045, 1047–1048), who "sold" the Papacy

Pope Boniface VIII (1294–1303), who is lampooned in Dante's Divine Comedy

Pope Urban VI (1378–1389), who complained that he did not hear enough screaming when Cardinals who had conspired against him were tortured.[2]

Pope Alexander VI (1492–1503), a Borgia, who was guilty of nepotism and whose unattended corpse swelled until it could barely fit in a coffin.[3]

Pope Leo X (1513–1521), a spendthrift member of the Medici family who once spent 1/7 of his predecessors' reserves on a single ceremony[4]

Pope Clement VII (1523–1534), also a Medici, whose power-politicking with France, Spain, and Germany got Rome sacked.

Amazing!

Apples and oranges in the same sentence!

You know; when you glom together disparate verses; you can make them say the dumbest things!

Psst...

By their fruits refers to False Prophets...

Look it up!
