Brothers-in-law! He lives 3 blocks from me... in (almost) paradise!!! According to the US State Dept, there are more than 30,000 Americans living in Philippines.
For Thanksgiving, we shared turkey, ham and trimmings with (left to right) Mark (USAF Retired), Rand (USArmy Retired) and myself (USNavy, 1966-68) and our spouses, all sweet Filipinas! Turkeys were Butterball breasts and whole, roasted with butter, salt and pepper. Ocean Spray Cranberry sauce was a welcome memory and sealed the deal!! My sweetie made NY style cheesecake and pineapple upside down cake for desserts.
My wife also makes my turkey sandwiches by first heating/frying them in butter, then smearing our sesame burger rolls with mayo and Frenchs mustard, and adding Vlasic dill slices! Umm!
In the picture, you will note we have a pizza oven and make a mighty fine pie!
You HAVE been blessed!
I think there are some other expatriates here in the RF (not me though). Can you tell me what kind of evangelism you see in the Philippines?
And do you want some NE weather?
