I doubt that Popes urged people to use unscrupulous means to convert people. Please read the two definitions. Very different.
Btw, go back and read the interview with the Italian atheist. The atheist says “ my friends say you will try to CONVERT me” and Francis then famously replies with his prothelytism is nonsense quote.
You will notice he didn’t say I will try to “ evangelize” you, did he?
Apparently he had no concern for the lost soul of the atheist or he thinks an atheist is fine as long as they are a “good” atheist?
