Catholicism was founded by Christ. There was nothing else until the Luther split in the 1500s.

“Like many other well intentioned Evangelicals, he must not have been well versed in Romans 15:20-21 “

Like so many other well catechized Catholics, you must not know this verse isn’t a command. It states Paul’s personal desire...

Everyone needs to know Christ by entrusting themselves to Him for salvation - regardless of whether they attend a church or not. They ALL need His Gospel of Grace.

**Someone needs to tell idiots they are idiots.

How else will they learn and quit being idiots.**

FYI, Catholics are not idiots.

Two utterly untrue statements. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church has been in existence since before Catholicism was a gleam in universalists eyes. Also being how as Christ and the Apostles were Jews, they still seem to be in business in one faction or another.

Caths may read the bible but they don’t apply it. They certainly aren’t paying attention to the Greek as the Greek clears up the issue of Jesus having brothers and sisters, Mary being sinless, and not remaining a virgin and that we don’t have to go through Mary to get to Christ.

Grow up.

I never said Catholics were idiots.

My point was to an individual or individuals.

Whether they were Catholics or not is not an attack on all Catholics.

Christ founded the Catholic Church on the apostles

Wrong again. Christs Church is founded on Him. Not mankind. And Jesus never set foot in a Catholic Church. He would abhor the graven statues in them if He did, though. And rip your priests as he did the Pharisees for promulgating man made commandments over Gods Commandments.

I stand by my statement.

Catholicism is a subgroup of Christianity as a whole.

When someone makes a blanket statement that every single protestant church is going to allow something, their words alone prove they are idiots.

Then attack their idiotic statements and not them personally. You've been here long enough to know the rules.

Except for the underground Christian Church that God has always kept. The same underground believers in Jesus Christ that Roman and other RCC rulers were putting to death in a variety of hideous ways. But, that's probably easy for some to forget.

We all owe God a death. The wages of sin is death and we've all sinned.

One might look at the Waldensians, the Cathars, and the Albigenians. The Papacy decided they were heretics for reading the Bible. For that they, women, children, and men were burned to death at the order of the Popes. The evolution of the inquisition developed beginning in the 4th century. It seems the idea of faith and morals, which the Popes cannot be in error on, they determined killing children in the most cruel of ways was the moral thing to do. There seems to be an inconsistency with the teachings of Jesus.

Where does Jesus teach what you mentioned?

My in-laws are all strong Baptists and I think some of them had some real doubts or dreads when I (a Catholic) married into the family. They have all been most gracious from the start; it's one of many experiences that long-since immunized me against any animus against non-Catholic Christians.

I run into some --- what shall I call them? --- Irritants out there who can be ungracious to us Papists, but they can't even put a scratch on my respect for Protestants/Evangelicals/Baptists/Anabaptsts/Non-denoms as a whole. BASIC. Brothers And Sisters In Christ.
