I have been trying to find the verse(s) that Obama quoted in his speech: OBAMA: Or are we a nation that finds a way to welcome her in? Scripture tells us, we shall not oppress a stranger, for we know the heart of a stranger. We were strangers once, too.
What book and verse does this say it?
” that it is ‘detestable’ to God for a man to lie with a man,”
About the last half of Roman’s Chapter One.
If God wanted Man and Man to lie together he would not have destroyed SODOM AND GOMORRAH.
Well, there you have it then. I have never been to Egypt, much less been a stranger there. So I do not have to be nice.

He was referring to Exodus 22:21, in which the ancient Israelites were commanded to treat aliens among them with respect, since they, too, had only recently been in their shoes.

But Gohmert, a Texas Republican, held up his own Bible Thursday during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity.” “If you just go over to the next column, maybe he hasn’t seen these verses,” Gohmert said before reading from Exodus 23:1-3 in the Holman Christian Standard Bible:
“You must not spread a false report. Do not join the wicked to be a malicious witness. You must not follow a crowd in wrongdoing. Do not testify in a lawsuit and go along with a crowd to pervert [justice]. Do not show favoritism to a poor person in his lawsuit.”
“This man is showing favoritism,” Gohmert said, “and he’s lying about Congress.”

If it was a Republican who quoted Bible verses, they would complain about separation of Church and State.
His party howled God down at the last DNC national convention. Some woman had to tell Villaragosa to just proceed with the fraud anyway.
We must remember that the STRANGER was expected to live by the laws of the land he was in.

Himself leads a Passover Seder - this is directly from the haggadah to remind Jews of their history of being oppressed in Egypt and to not do the same to others. i doubt he pulled out his Hebrew Scripture for inspiration - but drew upon his experience with Passover.
I knew I could count on my FR people to find the answer! Went to Exodus 22:21 and the verse before it needs to be included for understanding the context:
…20”He who sacrifices to any god, other than to the LORD alone, shall be utterly destroyed. 21 You shall not wrong a stranger or oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
22 You shall not afflict any widow or orphan.…”
An invader or an invading army of people has no intention of respecting the laws or the people of the land they invade. Their intention is to takeover and rule as they choose. Fools are being used just like blacks have been and the DNC is showing just how evil they are for relegating Hispanics now to the manipulations with no actual regard for their lives just their presence.

I’m kind of surprised that no one has yet related this lying degenerate’s comment to his own illegal status in Amerika.
I didn’t say anything about a civil war...just wanted to know if our Prince was right. So much he says is a lie.
Quoting scripture for the wrong reason is no more honorable than misquoting it.
There is also the story in history of the Trojan horse which the Islamic extremists are using to get into this country.
The Trojan horse is also being used to promote homosexuality and abortion.
It is used in the schools from kinder garden through college to transfer this nation from a nation under God to a nation of atheism.
So we need to take what the Bible says very seriously but we also need to recognize the difference between a stranger and an enemy.
It is not the President`s job to decipher the Bible because he is not a king, it is his job to obey the law of the constitution.
