>>The word "pagan" is not in the holy scriptures. For one Gentile to call other Gentiles' religious faith and practice "Gentile" is odd and redundant.<<

I think the readers well understand when the term "pagan beliefs and practices" is used. The beliefs and practices of Pagans/Gentiles prior to conversion is well documented in scripture and secular writings. So your attempt to obfuscate is rather weak.

Pagan = Gentile

Gentiles, pagans and heathen – what do those words really mean?

This article takes a closer look at the concepts “gentile”, “pagan” and “heathen”. Some people have, without knowing the actual meaning of those words, used them of other people, or of other nations, sometimes in a contemptuous manner. Some talk about “paganism” or “heathenism”, or use some similar words. Sometimes, that is connected to a dogmatic claim, or perhaps merely a “feeling”, that people in the person’s own church, country or nation are “enlightened” or “God’s people” or “God’s elect”, while others are considered to be “gentiles”, “pagans”, “heathen”, or something similar.
