Looking at Protestants through a Catholic model can get people to assume you care about everything Martin Luther said.
That noted, the Luther idea of salvation effected through faith and not the mediation of other men or even the Christian’s own works, is echoed in your (and my) worship congregations. But Luther never took credit for the idea. He asserted it had been in the bible all along. His role was in reviving interest in the idea and its ramifications.
