Looks like the mormon bishop who made this charge against Reid is under fire from the mormon church for doing so.

Well, if you have to support certain positions or articles of faith, to be a member in good standing of your faith, then this shouldn’t be an issue, should it?

Harry is liberal and publicly espouses liberal views, which are at odds with his religion. If he’s out of step, it is his choice to not follow the tenets of his religious faith, and accept consequences for same.

Do you mean that pervert marriage and killing babies is not part of Reid’s religion?

Harry Reid has a temple recommend, so he isn’t really at odds with his religion.

Church spokesman Dale Jones told The Salt Lake Tribune that Mormons are entitled to express their political opinions, but publishing their views while using a church title is “entirely inappropriate.”

So, what Dale Jones is saying is that the Mormon Church doesn't have the balls to take a stand publicly for what they say they believe. What a mealy-mouth bunch of religious wusses. All Mormons of conviction ought to come to the defense of the Bishop, in Los Angeles, who spoke the Truth!!! The only place Harry Reid is really worthy to enter in The Gates of Hell.

Lucky he’s in Washington. I’m sure Cardinal Wuerl will give him Communion anytime. He can go to Mass with Nancy Pelosi.

Zobell said: “I am so tired of self-righteous members of my own Church telling me I cannot be a Democrat and a good Mormon ... I cannot see how anyone can read the Book of Mormon and the New Testament and not have more compassion and charity for others.”

His error is not recognizing the difference between charity, a personal decision to help, and voting to allow government to force people to support what the government calls charity.

There is a reason the Founders did not give government the right to take from one and give to another based on “charity”.

Government charity corrupts all involved, from the taxed to the Trough Feeder distributing the “charity” to the recipient.

As a Mormon, Zobell should know the LDS church has a very active charity program, but requires all members, even those on Mormon charitable support, to contribute 10% to help those even less fortunate.

“To take from collective Peter and give to selected Paul” can’t be done by Trough Feeders in government without enormous waste and rampant corruption.

Consider the results of private and religious charity compared to Government charity - Government charity produces life long parasitic dependents on Government charity.

Private and religious charities do not support those who simply won’t become self supporting.

As a certain carpenter was reputed to have said, “Those who will not work shall not eat.” Hunger is, after all, nature’s ‘Behavioral Reality Check’.

Zobell knows better - he is merely exercising his “Inner Democrat”.

One must wonder how Zobell rationalizes substituting Jesus’ position on the work/charity issue with that of such collectivist infected politicians as Roosevelt and other Democrats.

What does that mean?

Harry Reid isn’t just a Mormon who attends church, he is a very devout Mormon that has requested to be vetted for his devotion to his religion, and has been personally interviewed by two levels of church leadership, resulting in his being issued the ID that is required to worship in the Temples, and which must be re earned every two years.

Mormons cannot enter the Temples unless they can prove that they are on the level of faith that Harry Reid and Glenn Beck, and Mitt Romney are on, and the majority of Mormons are forbidden entrance to those Temples for worship and the marriages and even secret practices that take place within, they are relegated to the plainer church buildings that any of us can attend.
