Revelation is about the fall of the Roman Empire — code word Babylon in Revelation.

It is not about the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Church IS the Roman Empire...That's how it got its name...The Empire lost its political and military power the but the religion is still there, ready to be crashed by God...

>>Revelation is about the fall of the Roman Empire<<

ROFL!! Are you a Preterist?

The original Babylon cannot be the "whore" of Revelation. God said those who were supposedly His followers who used pagan practices were "whoring around with other gods". The Catholic Church by it's own admission incorporates pagan practices thus is "whoring around with other gods".

Once again lets see what the Catholic Church has to say who "Babylon" refers to.

" In his first epistle, Peter tells his readers that he is writing from "Babylon" (1 Pet. 5:13), which was a first-century code word for the city of pagan Rome." [http://www.catholic.com/tracts/peters-roman-residency]

See there? The Catholic Church itself admits that Rome is referred to as "Babylon". It's amazing what trouble they cause themselves when trying to justify error.

Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 3 "For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality." 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

There are plagues coming upon the Catholic Church and those who do not want to partake of them had better come out of her.

“Revelation is about the fall of the Roman Empire — code word Babylon in Revelation.”

Oh really?

When did Roman Empire put a mark on everyone’s hand or head (in the entire world), so that they couldn’t buy or sell without the mark?

When where the judgements of God poured out on the Roman Empire? When did a star fall from heaven into the sea? When did one third of the creatures in the sea die due to this? When were one third of the ships on the sea destroyed?

When were the “locusts” from the bottomless pit (the abode of fallen angels) released to torment the wicked for five months? When did the four angels slay one third of the population of the entire earth?

Who were the two witnesses and when were they slain in the streets of Jerusalem? When was this holiday that people from all tongues and nations sent each other gifts to celebrate the witnesses’ demise? When was the associated earthquake that killed 1/10 of the population of Jerusalem?

If you want me to believe Revelation was about the fall of the Roman Empire, then surely you can pinpoint when all of those prophecies from Revelation were fulfilled.
