Apparently, "Teen Mom" star/stripper Farrah Abraham's recent trip to Houston's Lakewood Church had an impact.
The reality star turned porn star was spotted in a Texas airport this week reading a copy of Lakewood pastor Joel Osteen's bestsellilng book "You Can, You Will."

Joel was the only minister who refused to stand up for religious liberty in the battle against the queer mayor of Houston’s demand for sermons.
He’s a dilly. I would not touch him with a ten foot pole.
I’ve read plenty of that nonsense from others.
I have a friend who gets *words* from God (allegedly) and feels obligated to share them with everyone.
Too much self in all that. Too much self-importance to think they’re so special that they get words from God they need to share with everyone and that people even want to hear what they claim to have heard from God.
You know what?
If what those people are telling us disagrees with Scripture, then it’s not from God.
If it agrees with Scripture, then they didn’t need to say it in the first place cause God already told us and its redundant.
Something tells me such automatic or reactive judgments could be a habit or pattern in your life.
I recognize this in myself, too, and have to fight it more often than I'd like to admit.
....”the churches would be full every Sunday . . . where Christ is not preached.
Many are just that today....Jesus has become a “footnote” for many. Osteen is one of them...and based on his own words that he’s a ‘motivational speaker’ and his work is a “family business”, he still has not stopped calling himself a preacher and his organization a church.
Your post on what Barnhouse stated... reminds me a bit of the “Screw tape letters”....satan always works in way’s that appear to be good or in half truths......
I read some of it. I couldn’t stomach the rest.
It’s the same old nonsense that people give, as if Christ is speaking to the rest of the world through them. Same style, which is not at all in the style which Scripture is written.
Special revelation is over. We have the word of God and that’s all we need.
If He needs to convict someone of sin, He doesn’t need to use some self-appointed mouthpiece of God. The Holy Spirit can and will do it HIMSELF.
Osteen continues to soft sell Jesus if at all....and he admits so ....Jesus is his footnote as are his scripture references, used to support his “Business”, as he calls it.
It's sadly comical to hear how often he says... “I don't know”....when in fact Jesus definitely knew the truth and spoke it.
Osteen doesn't know....his job is a feely good false message that is misleading many, because he never differentiates between if or not he's speaking to Christians or those not saved.
The only thing that separates his performances from the many like him is he doesn't have a line of people waiting for healing and doesn't bop people in the head so they fall on the floor. But all else is the same.
It’s pretty clear.....in our day anything goes from the pulpits....Who would crucify him today? Nobody. Because he would be “tolerated”.
***even though he admits so and states so time and again his followers don’t hear that.***
Oh my. I didn’t pick up on that either! I just knew it.
...”Heck, he replies *I don’t know* to questions that a baby in Christ ought to be able to answer”....
I’m convinced he doesn’t want to say even if he knew, which if he does he does not know how to present or defend the truth in order to remain the motivational speaker that he is and continue generating the funds.
He uses words like “mistakes” and “Wrong doing”....to avoid the use of sin...and he certainly doesn’t reveal that God says without Christ your condemned already.
Osteen has stated he doesn’t know what happens to people without Christ.....he says that God looks at your heart but fails to reveal what God says about the hearts of men.
He says in Genesis 8.....”for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth.” and in Gen. 6 ....”The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”..... and in Isaiah 1 he states...” The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.”
Scripture reveals over and over that without Christ the heart is wicked and evil....
Good post....makes it clear Osteen does not want anything to distract from his enterprise. Speaking of people sinning against a Holy God is not in His plan.
....”Oh my. I didnt pick up on that either! I just knew it”....
So the question is then why don’t Osteen’s followers know it? It’s because they’re looking for ‘something else’ other than the Truth...and the enemy of God has a storehouse of “something else’s” to select from today. Osteen’s message of prosperity and be all you can be is a far cry from Jesus’s message to come to Him because you NEED to have forgiveness.
Now it’s clear.
Exactly. Osteen’s message is believe in your self and He will give you a great parking place.
