Washington D.C., Oct 24, 2014 / 12:08 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- Nina Pham, a Dallas nurse who has been battling Ebola after treating a patient in Texas, has now been declared free of the disease, and gave thanks to God and all those who have prayed for her in recent weeks.

“I feel fortunate and blessed to be standing here today,” Pham said in a press conference Oct. 24. “I would first and foremost like to thank God, my family and friends. Throughout this ordeal, I have put my trust in God and my medical team.”

Pham thanked everyone who had been involved in her care, both in Texas and Maryland. She offered special gratitude to Ebola survivor Dr. Kent Brantly for donating plasma, calling it a “selfless act.”

“I believe in the power of prayer because I know so many people all over the world have been praying for me,” she continued. “I join you in prayer now for the recovery of others.”

The 26-year-old nurse, described by friends as a devout Catholic, is believed to have contracted Ebola while caring for a Thomas Eric Duncan, a patient at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. Duncan passed away from Ebola Oct. 8.

Pham was transferred to the National Institutes of Health in Maryland on Oct. 16. Numerous tests have now shown her to be Ebola free, and she will return to Texas to continue regaining strength.

Ebola continues to devastate parts of West Africa. The World Health Organization said that nearly 5,000 deaths had been reported as of Oct. 19, but the true numbers could be as high as 15,000.

Pham’s fellow nurse, Amber Vinson, had also contracted Ebola after caring for Duncan. Vinson is currently being treated. Her family said Oct. 22 that she had tested free of the disease.

If she really believed in the power of prayer, why have a medical team? She should have refused medical assistance to show all those libtards HIS true glory.

God doesn't ALWAYS grant us our prayers, but we always HOPE that He does. Can't one believe in prayer and yet KNOW that our good Lord may NOT answer them because HE has a reason?

I know you aren't "second-guessing" God.

I see it differently. She was in a unique position to witness the love and power of GOD to Obama (who certainly needs it). I believe in my heart that she rose to the calling and did so.

Some of you people are unbelievably naïve. You don't "witness" to Satan or his direct emissaries. But since he was the object of a "witness" I'll be watching for a dramatic change in Obola's behavior /sarc.

Catholics who assist in Vatican II liturgies are new age catholics.

I would like to have the chance to demonstrate to you how to verbally deal with the president in front of the press (but preferably without first having to endure a few days of Ebola infection). The world would never be the same again.

This dopey young nurse didn’t even have to appear at the press conference. There is a cured physician (at Emory?), of whom I’m sure you are aware, who has remained anonymous through the entire episode.

Having “class” and demonstrating civility is in large part the strategy that Republican leadership use when dealing with the president. Look where it has got us.

If I had just survived Ebola, I’d probably hug half the Democratic Party, and a few fallen angels, just for good measure.

I would thank the medical team but be my normal caustic and acerbic self to everyone else.

Going within 100 meters of Obola would make me retch again.

Although vomiting on him is an idea.

After the News Conference, she left to visit the Antichrist in the Oval Office for a Hug.

Could you tell in some of the opportune pictures that she did not like being touched by Obama?

excellent.

When you were praying, did you get the impression she would be ok?

I did. It was like -- it was already decided by the time my own small prayers were added.
