Why would intelligent, successful people give up their careers, alienate their friends, and cause havoc in their families...to become Catholic? Indeed, why would anyone become Catholic?
As an evangelist and author who recently threw my own life into some turmoil by deciding to enter the Catholic Church, I've faced this question a lot lately. That is one reason I decided to make this documentary; it's part of my attempt to try to explain to those closest to me why I would do such a crazy thing.
Convinced isn't just about me, though. The film is built around interviews with some of the most articulate and compelling Catholic converts in our culture today, including Scott Hahn, Francis Beckwith, Taylor Marshall, Holly Ordway, Abby Johnson, Jeff Cavins, Devin Rose, Matthew Leonard, Mark Regnerus, Jason Stellman, John Bergsma, Christian Smith, Kevin Vost, David Currie, Richard Cole, and Kenneth Howell. It also contains special appearances by experts in the field of conversion such as Patrick Madrid and Donald Asci.
Ultimately, this is a story about finding truth, beauty, and fulfillment in an unexpected place, and then sacrificing to grab on to it. I think it will entertain and inspire you, and perhaps even give you a fresh perspective on an old faith.

Yeah, sure it was. Was the "Pharisee's" law also called the "Law of Moses", because that is what Paul was speaking about. It's the same law Jesus was "born under" (Galatians 4:5) and was the covenant which is from Mount Sinai which bears children who are to be slaves (Gal. 4:24). It was the same law introduced 430 years after God's promise to Abraham (Gal. 3:17). It was the SAME law that was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. (Gal. 3:24,25)
It's pretty plain to see what Paul meant by the "Law". He condemned the perversion the Pharisees invented by their traditions. It was because of those traditions they destroyed the authority of God's word. We should avoid doing the same thing by placing ourselves back under slavery to the law instead of grace through faith. Faith ALONE is what justifies us.
Anyone who keeps the Law perfectly does not need a savior.
There are many that keep his commandments perfectly, they are not difficult to keep, but they are not the source of our justification, only the source of his pleasure.
Psalm 51:16-17 For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
I have read, maybe true, maybe not, that a very early age she was instructed ,in the synagogue, to read and learn the scriptures. Koseph was a self-employed business man and could probably read. I have no way of knowing whether or not this is true....just remember reading it.

So young girls and business men were literate, I see.
ROTFL!!!!!!!!
again.....
when you ignore the teaching authority of the chuch, that's what happens....Pick and choose whatever passages you like...it's that easy for some.
I assume, then, that you remember where you read everything that you know....WOW, that's amazing
If I make accusations I document. If you can’t prove someone said something don’t claim they did.
there were young girls trained to be :temple virgins" and as suce were quite well trained...most business owners, I would assume, had to have at least some knowledge of the written word. The regular people, not so much so. There were, as you know, scribes whose occupation was to read to and write for the people at that time. He could write your letter for you, to grandma, and arrange to have it delivered to where ever it had to go.
Are you saying Mary was trained to be a “Temple Virgin?” If so, why was she betrothed to Joseph?

Do you really want to stand on that one?
Justification by works?
You’ve just written a new Bible, with a works based salvation gospel.
Good work! (pun definitely intended)
.
No it does not.
I thought everyone had this verse on the tip of their tongue:
Ephesians 2:8
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
And this one too:
1John 5:
1] Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
[2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
[3] For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
No, not the teaching of the church, he is in total denial of the word of God.

I’m not the one who keeps saying people have to keep the Law to be saved.
All it takes is ONE sin to send someone to hell.
So where do you go to offer the required sacrifices, the ones required by the Law you claim we are to keep?
The Temple is no longer and there is no consecrated priesthood to offer them.
Nobody can keep the Law these days because there is no means by which it can be kept.
So why do you insist that we do it?
Nobody I can remember claims justification by works, so why are you beating the walls over justification by works?
Being perfect will not justify anyone.
Each of us is born with a debt of sin that can only be satisfied by Yeshua’s blood.
What part of that indicates that it is ok to deny Him what he has asked of us?
Every time Yeshua intervened in the life of one of us during his ministry, his parting comment was “go and sin no more.”
His beloved apostle John was good enough to inform us that the very definition of sin is transgression of Torah, so thereby we know for sure exactly what Yeshua expects of us.
Those that are really his have no problem with this, as he has written Torah on their hearts, but the easy believers dedicate their lives to twisting a few words from selected clipped verses out of Paul's very verbose letters in an attempt to reverse Yeshua’s simple request.
2Peter 3:
[11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
[12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
[13] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
[14] Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
[15] And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
[16] As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Yeshua constantly asked that we keep his commandments, and stated that those that love him do.
Paul, Peter, James, and John also taught that we are to keep his commandments. They also stated that his commandments are easy to keep, and loving, and a source of Liberty.
Why should anyone follow you rather than them?
