Could Mary read? After-all; she was an obscure teen aged Jewish girl betrothed to a carpenter. She'd likely be illiterate, right?

I have read, maybe true, maybe not, that a very early age she was instructed ,in the synagogue, to read and learn the scriptures. Koseph was a self-employed business man and could probably read. I have no way of knowing whether or not this is true....just remember reading it.

So young girls and business men were literate, I see.
