Why would intelligent, successful people give up their careers, alienate their friends, and cause havoc in their families...to become Catholic? Indeed, why would anyone become Catholic?
As an evangelist and author who recently threw my own life into some turmoil by deciding to enter the Catholic Church, I've faced this question a lot lately. That is one reason I decided to make this documentary; it's part of my attempt to try to explain to those closest to me why I would do such a crazy thing.
Convinced isn't just about me, though. The film is built around interviews with some of the most articulate and compelling Catholic converts in our culture today, including Scott Hahn, Francis Beckwith, Taylor Marshall, Holly Ordway, Abby Johnson, Jeff Cavins, Devin Rose, Matthew Leonard, Mark Regnerus, Jason Stellman, John Bergsma, Christian Smith, Kevin Vost, David Currie, Richard Cole, and Kenneth Howell. It also contains special appearances by experts in the field of conversion such as Patrick Madrid and Donald Asci.
Ultimately, this is a story about finding truth, beauty, and fulfillment in an unexpected place, and then sacrificing to grab on to it. I think it will entertain and inspire you, and perhaps even give you a fresh perspective on an old faith.

Relief, eh? And so because of Luther's fear, lack of faith and disordered desire to save his own skin we have millions of souls who got their "assurance". Good for them. It only cost us Western Civilization and possibly their immortal soul. Enjoy.
All are equally obligated to obey the commandments.
That has always been the entire world, since Adam sinned.
You seem to try to make a division that never existed.
The goyim have always been those that do not keep the commandments.
As per Jacob’s deathbed prophecy, the dominant nations of this world are chiefly of Hebrew descent, particularly Ephraim and Manasseh. They have been out of covenant for over 3000 years, and thus are definitely gentile.
Do you reject Jacob’s prophecy?
.
I've got news for you. It was reestablished as a nation in its own land in 1948.
>>The nation that exists today in the land is Judah.<<
They are all being gathered from all tribes.
>>The Last Week of Daniels prophecy is Yehova dealing with Satan,<<
Yeah right. That's why it's called the time of Jacob's trouble right?
Jeremiah 30:7 Woe! for great is that day, without any like it, Yea, a time of adversity it is to Jacob, Yet out of it he is saved.
Seriously man, Catholics and those that follow the teaching of Rood need to walk away from those false teachings.
Actually very grateful and humbled that I am covered by the righteousness of Christ.
>>Enough of your making a joke out of Gods word.<<
I make no jokes.
God's promises are Yes and Amen.
Security of the believer
John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
John 10:25-30 Jesus answered them, I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name bear witness about me, but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one.
1 Corinthians 1:4-8 I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledgeeven as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among youso that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 1:21-22 And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
2 Corinthians 5:4-8 For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdenednot that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
Ephesians 1:13-14 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Colossians 1:13-14 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 3:3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
For which the Greek, from the Byzantine, is:
2Corinthians 1:21-22 ο δε βεβαιων ημας συν υμιν εις χριστον και χρισας ημας θεος ο και σφραγισαμενος ημας και δους τον αρραβωνα του πνευματος εν ταις καρδιαις ημων
The first word in bold above is bebaion, the idea of confirmation, frequently used in commercial settings to confirm a bargain. Which of course makes sense of the remaining terms used here, which are also elements of a secured contract.
The second word in bold above is sphragisamenos, being sealed is to be marked by the signature, signet ring, or other unique proof of identity, that we belong to God, and this sealing is done by God, who is the one taking action in this verse. We do not and cannot seal ourselves. We do not, by our own powers, have access to Gods signet ring.
The third bolded word above is arrabona, and indicates what we might loosely refer to as earnest money, but in Hebrew culture conveys more the idea of a pledge of covenant, a security given as a guarantee that the deal will go through, though we only receive part payment at the beginning. See ערב for the related Hebrew stem indicating pledge.
That's true. All are.
And none can.
That's why Christ's righteousness must be imputed to us and it's done by faith, not by works so that no man can boast. Because by the works of the Law, no flesh is justified.
Can you prove I did? I sited the source by which I proved Luther's debilitating condition. O'Hare wasn't part of the equation. However we shouldn't let that get in the way of setting up a protestant straw man based on assumptions.
Not being able to get at Luther in more direct fashion, it seems as of there has been something of a cottageindustry among RCC apologists turning to psychoanalysis of seemingly everyone ---except themselves.
And yet nobody can say that they are wrong.
But don't worry we have plenty of pseudo-intellectual protestants around here playing esoteric archeologists, Expressing their inner Dan Brown so it all balances out.
But you did link to an article & thread from offsite where there was a discussion going on that included that poster's comments -- and those of others, which you asserted proved something -- though failed to tell us what, and precisely how any of that does a single thing which you continue to trollishly assert.
I went and looked at it, and found no real evidence which would support your editorial opinions concerning it.
So what real difference is there?
Tell you what, though.
Feel free to take dan up on actually showing him (point by point and counterpoint) how his own positions were allegedly eviscerated --- and I won't object -- but will still otherwise possibly weigh in to oppose that shallow argument by assertion type of thing which the Roman Catholics there (in their own collective, overweening pride) thought so significant and important.
And what?
How about AND how you justified the murders of the Waldenses?
BUT-- then squirmed away in denial of having done so...
Removal of heretics, huh?
In the case of the Waldenses, many of them moved to remote mountainous areas.
Eventually, those of Romish & murderous religiosity followed them there, burning some (150) of them at the stake back in the 13th century.
That was not the end to the murdering, either...
Now -- just what was that about Luther costing us Western civilization that you were yammering about?
Boy howdy. TaLK about someone living 'rent free' in other peoples heads. Martin Luther == the boogieman under the bed.
While they deny that souls whom Rome buries as members are Catholic.
He was, or became so here when you cited him as if he was some kind of authority.
King David must have also suffered from what you term a debilitating condition
From Psalm 51 (NKJV)
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions,
And my sin is always before me.
4 Against You, You only, have I sinned,
And done this evil in Your sight
That You may be found just when You speak,[a]
And blameless when You judge.5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
And in sin my mother conceived me.
6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,
And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.[a]Psalm 51:4 Septuagint, Targum, and Vulgate read in Your words.
that is what is called a question....what did they have to read???
just where did they, the lay peopple, lay hands on a written copy of scripture????
do your own research, I have read that as few as 10% of the people in the Roman empire could read and write. In the urban areas higher, in the rural areas, lower. In those articles, no one went above 20% in any area.
Jews since Moses have widely circulated manuscripts, letters and public or private notes, as is easily seen in the sheer number of ‘genizahs’ found everywhere in the Jewish world.
I see someone that limits their reading to RC approved tomes and records. Just like so many other RC's, if their leadership tells them the sky is green, then they will start coloring all of their comic books with green sky!
Many of the Jews wore little leather boxes (Phylacteries) on their arms or heads, which contained written portions of the Torah. Many still carry on with that practice today.Every temple or house of Judaism had complete scrolls, handwritten records and plenty of other religious writings.
That same place these people did.
John 5:39 Ye search the Writings, because ye think in them to have life age-during, and these are they that are testifying concerning me;
And these people
Act 17:11 and these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, they received the word with all readiness of mind, every day examining the Writings whether those things were so;
Jesus chose lowly fisherman and even they could obviously read and write. Both John and Paul mention people “searching the scriptures”. Yet Catholics are so blinded by the indoctrination of the Catholic Church they make nonsensical claims.
Mary could
.
Your words make Yeshua and his beloved apostle John liars.
How far can you expect to go denying the word?
John 14:
[15] If ye love me, keep my commandments.
1John 5:
[2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
[3] For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
You are dreaming!
Take another read of John’s first epistle.
It is plain that anyone not keeping his commandments is covered only by Matthew 7:13-23
