Why would intelligent, successful people give up their careers, alienate their friends, and cause havoc in their families...to become Catholic? Indeed, why would anyone become Catholic?
As an evangelist and author who recently threw my own life into some turmoil by deciding to enter the Catholic Church, I've faced this question a lot lately. Once again the words of the Catholic Church itself exsposes the falsehood of comments made in these threads by Catholics.

That is a prayer directed TO a saint asking him specifically FOR something.
All the rationalization in the world isn't going to change the fact one bit that that prayer was not to God.

I know that from my genealogy research on my late husband’s ancestors. Some of what I read made me nauseated. I was amazed that so called Christians could do such horrible things. Wish I could find my notebook with all that info in it. It is probably still over at my house.

Even your Church admits it was on his confession rather than him as a person. And the truth from the Greek text shows what the keys are and what binding and loosing is. Many Catholics are learning of the lies the Catholic Church teaches.
