No angel is ever called a saint in Scripture...

No, it's more simple than that -- it's from the dictionary:

Why are they called “saints” if they’re angels rather than humans?

The word “saint” (Greek, hagios) means “holy one.”

It does not mean “holy human being.” As a result, it can apply to holy ones that aren’t human.

Since St.s Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael all chose to side with God rather than the devil, they are holy angels and thus saints.

All angels that sided with God are saints, but these three’s names are known to us, and so they are picked out by name in the liturgy.

Angels in popular culture are always lovely, dainty women, or pudgy little cherubs. Angels in Scripture must have been completely different, because it seems whenever they appeared, their first words were ‘Fear not’. They must have been a powerful sight to behold.

Thanks for that article.

Lol. We clearly follow different pop culture. But that is unimportant.

Angels deliver God’s word and God’s Judgments on many occasions. Terrifying in the later role? The word does not do the fearsome reality justice per scripture.

I chose Michael as my Confirmation name.

I always loved him.

I have tried to convince a friend that she should name her triplets after these three. Well she did use Michael.

Michael the Arch Angel is my favorite.

No angel ever allowed people to worship them or pray to them in Scripture.

There is no angel Raphael mentioned in scripture. The third archangel mentioned in scripture besides Michael and Gabriel is Lucifer.

Lucifer did not choose wisely, and fell.

“It does not mean “holy human being.” As a result, it can apply to holy ones that aren’t human.”

“Saint” is God’s description of those who have entrusted themselves to Christ’s sacrifice alone for salvation. The result is that the righteousness of Christ is given to them. This is why they are called saints by God. No angel will ever have the righteousness of Christ. Christ never died for a single fallen angel. In this case, the article confuses the meaning of salvation with a servant of the elect.

"Sts. Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, pray for us."

PRAYER TO SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.

Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.

May God rebuke him,

we humbly pray,

and do thou,

O Prince of the heavenly hosts,

by the power of God,

thrust into hell Satan,

and all the evil spirits,

who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.
