I had that a few years back, it sucks. The doc stuck a needle in the bone behind my ear 4 times to inject steroids. Hoochie mama did that get my attention.

Had a similar experience December 2011 - MRI negative etc. Diagnosed Bell's Palsy - no one is sure of a cause but in my case and 2 other's I heard about we all had a common thought that it happened after we were in a heavy wind blowing over our ears prior to the paralysis.
Not life-threatening but treated with cortisone and zovirax and clears up in 2-3 days usually. Be careful though that your eyes stay lubricated and don't dry out. Artificial tears help and I tried the eye patch that holds the lid shut but it drove me nuts.

Bells Palsy?I know someone who had that. It was no picnic either; but it did clear up in a fairly short while. Praying that everything works out!
