My Mom is finally at peace in the arms of the Lord. After more than a year in a nursing home, she suffered a setback that she couldn't come back from.
She had a history of "mini-strokes" or TIA's over the past few years. She always battled back, but she always lost a step or two each time.
Two weeks ago, she suffered a severe hemorrhagic stroke. Bleeding on the brain finally left her helpless.
After a 5 day stay in the hospital, she was returned to the nursing home this past Tuesday. My two sisters sat with her during the day and I stayed with her overnights.
After a short conversation with her last night, which I'm not sure she heard or understood, one where I assured her that I would take good care of her daughters, she decided that she could stop worrying about them and let go.
It was peaceful.
She loved Jesus with all of her heart because she knew how much Jesus loved her.
I'm so sad and so happy, all at the same time.
Amen Sweet Jesus, Amen
She loved Jesus with all of her heart because she knew how much Jesus loved her.
I’m very sorry. Doesn’t matter that you had here a long time. It hurts just the same. When my father died I was in the room with him, just him and me. I swear that I felt his soul leave his body, and I felt his peace. Your mom is happy. I’m sure of it. My best to you.
I’ve had a lot of good hug time from friends and relatives and the staff at the home.
Right now, some me and FRHUGS time.
Many prayers up for your family in this difficult time.
I weep with you in the loss of your mom. But I praise the Lord and thank Him that you will be reunited with her.
I feel for your loss BTLD. It’s never easy.

She had a long and wonderful life, I’m sure! My Mom died at age 90, and we were grateful to have had her with us so long. She passed away a few months prior to 9/11 happening, and I was always glad she was spared knowing there were such treacherous people among us, she always tried to see the best in everyone. May God Bless you and your family and help you celebrate her life.
HE told me so while I was writing. I had no idea what I was really going to say....!!
That is a very well written tribute. You and your family are in our prayers.
Prayers to you and yours. Your mother was very blessed to have such a caring daughter and vice versa.
Sad to see so many are not as blessed because of abortion, divorce, non-belief, and many other reasons in our society today. They are the ones truly alone at such times.
But remember, if Jesus is in your heart, you are never alone. He will walk with you, even carry you and your burdens if you ask. Nothing is too small or too large for HIM.
So sorry to hear your Mom passed. God bless her and keep her.
That is sweet about your Dad. I slept at his/mine feet for 3 days. A very comfortable place. He said my name before he left. Still sucked, I loved Daddy
She was blessed with a long life. As were you, her children. May your hearts be filled with wonderful memories.
I am constantly reminded of my mortality. I lost my Mom and Dad. The other night I went through the people i knew that are dead. It was amazing reality. We all die.
It’s always hard to lose your mom. When my mom was dying, a very old woman at the convalescent home - her roommate - told me, “You are never too old to miss your mom.” I thought it was so sweet.
When I lost my grandma during the 1990’s, this verse gave me comfort. So I am sending it to you as a means of comfort for you. Blessings.
John 11:25
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies.
