Jesus says...”A wicked and adulterous generation ‘looks for a sign’,... but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.” ....Jesus then left them and went away......Matt 16:4

Jesus wasted no time in useless discussions with perverse opponents who ‘will’ not see the truth....Of his death and resurrection, which Jonah was a type, they knew and understood nothing.
