>>And of course you can cite secular experts or sources that will confirm your position.<<

I think it's filed under "An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign".

I'm sure somewhere in the Catholic catechism it explains how a word here or there misspelled requires some sort of penance to retain salvation.

Rather than speculating, you could actually read it.

When you know what Catholics actually believe, your arguments might carry more weight with Catholics. Otherwise, you're just preaching to the choir.

So in prot minds the Bible is considered a secular expert or source? Please explain, because Catholics consider it a religious tome.

.....”When you know what Catholics actually believe”.....

Maybe better catholics need to find out what they really believe rather then just carry the water the water for what the leadership would have you believe.

Well, as always, Vlad, you’ve said it all! It’s one of the reasons you’re my favorite Catholic poster.

So you disagree with Saint Paul, and hold instead that Christians are bound by the whole Mosaic Law?

It’s St. Camillus’ heat. He died in 1614.

A 400 year old heart. I’m surprised it’s still around.

I've read the Catechism.

I assume that you haven't.

Yet you're confident in telling us what we believe.

Can you explain this to us?

Nobody here worships Luther

Protestants don't worship Luther, but most follow his doctrine of the Bible alone as the sole rule of faith. This doctrine isn't found in the Bible.

...and we don’t live our lives to be encouraged by miracles.

That's good, too, since they shouldn't be the center of your spiritual life. But they're real, so why reject them?

Many atheistic scientists who have studied the Shroud of Turin have become Christians. I consider this a good thing, making the the Shroud very valuable and worthy of study. Moreover, as a relic of Christ Himself, it is extremely valuable.

Our lives belong to Christ and seek to do His will.

That's also good. But how do you know what His will is? Is it by using the Bible ALONE as your sole rule of faith?

We encourage other believers with what we read in the Bible

Which Bible? The full Bible, or Luther's abridged version? If you accept Luther's Bible, where does the Bible to tell you that Luther's Bible is the correct Bible?

Where does the Bible tell you that the Bible is the SOLE rule of faith?

Why are so many Protestants ignorant of the following passage?

"If he will not listen to the church, treat him as a pagan or tax collector." --Jesus

Of those who know of this passage, why do they dismiss it?

...and we gain strength through daily prayer.

That's good.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

True.

That is much different from a lineage of many men who make things up as they go along, depending on the age they live in.

Do you mean the unbroken lines of successors to St. Peter, leaders of the historical Church that Christ founded?

Why do you dismiss the Church so casually?

You can't be getting that from the Bible, since Scripture refers to the church that Christ founded as "the pillar and foundation of truth."

I read my Bible daily and I spend time in prayer, speaking and listening to God. I read supplemental devotional books such as My Utmost for His Highest, by Oswald Chambers and The Release of the Spirit by Watchman Nee.

These two supplemental publications have been a great help to me in understanding my relationship with Christ, as they round out my Bible reading. From there, I trust Him to guide my life.

I highly recommend both of these publications to those of you seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. My Utmost for His Highest is also available at Amazon if you want a book for yourself. Thanks, for taking the time to read this.

Catholics seem to be the most gullible, superstitious crowd I've ever seen...When the anti-Christ shows up he's going to love you guys...A couple of miracles and you'll be hooked...You'll be eating out of his hand...

Sad but from what I can see, very true.

They'll believe ANYTHING if the Catholic church says it's true.

I wouldn't even have any respect for a sci-fi author who wrote that stuff like that happened.

If all they have is to rag on you about spelling, consider it a job well done.

You obviously made your point and they can’t contest it.

“And in their daily life as well. Days of the week named for various pagan gods, same as the month of the year. The calendar being broken up into 12 months, roughly corresponding to the Zodiac. The list goes on.”

It sure does. But no one should expect anti-Catholics to be either knowledgeable or logical.

Actually, the Bible is the Word of God, not just some “religious tome.”
