Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.
But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:
"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.
As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...
Compared to the simple new thing that Jesus brought the world...
Jesus answered, The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.

...no APPEARANCE of evil...
Depends on what you're referring to. I suppose you could post your standard laundry list of bad popes. But in the end, me and every other Catholic on here just shrug our shoulders. For we do not put our faith in men. But for protestants it would seem, as evidenced by your comment, their faith is shaped and formed by man more than they're willing to admit.
Interesting how the Real Presence of the Eucharist was true, until it was not. It's a shame the reformers disregarded that Truth because they didn't like the guy in Rome. And so 500 years later what's changed? Nothing. Protestants bounce from ecclesial community to ecclesial community based on what they "like" or whatever their personal preference is. Fire their leaders if they say the wrong thing, preach the wrong thing, take a certain biblical interpretative tack that doesn't jive with what the congregation wants to hear. It's sad and pathetic.
You need a chuckle or two!
Above...
An amazing revelation of truth!!!
Oh that you'd be so lackadaisical about Luther's supposed sins.
Oh?
What EVIDENCE do you mean?
I wish you’d ring a cow bell before you showed up.
As you wish:
And there would be an end to abortion.God love you, Internet Angel ♥ On this the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, I join you in prayer........
Oh, good grief. Do you honestly believe that junk others talk about? What is sad is what the catholic leader says. I wonder if he really knows what the Bible says.
Good post. I was raised as a Catholic not to put my faith in princes. I also believe that the Real Presence is the most important thing in my religion - even if a bad priest was handing it out - it was still the body and blood of Jesus Christ.
Yeah, they just believe what they are told and they do not seem to care what the Bible has to say.
Why when she is telling the truth?
Just the simple admission that the protestant reformation was due to "leadership problems" in the Church and not issues of doctrine or truth.
So, protestants forsake the Truth to get their guy in power. Congratulations. Hope it was worth it. 500 years later and you've lost Europe to the Muslim horde. What they couldn't do through force of arms they were able to do because of protestant weakness.
What junk is that Ma'am?
What is sad is what the catholic leader says. I wonder if he really knows what the Bible says.
I'm pretty sure he knows.
She’s a he.
I read other books besides the bible. It’s a book. It’s a good book. But it’s not the only book. And I love the art of the Catholic Church which went very far in defining Western Civilization. I feel sorry for anyone who can’t appreciate that.
I have no interest in Luther's sins either. I'm much more concerned on how he was wrong and the ensuing consequences.
I think it is revealing - intentional or not - it's admitting that Mariolatry is a big part of Roman Catholicism.Catholics do not worship Mary. Go back and read it again. Hint: Mary leads everyone to her Son, Jesus, as she's the mother of God. Does this disturb you?
