Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.
But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:
"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.
As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...
If it’s any consolation to you, the Church doesn’t teach that praying a Rosary will bring prosperity. In fact, as a life-long Catholic, I have never met an individual Catholic who does. Nor is a Catholic required to ever pray the Rosary.
Well someone claimed - “If EVERYONE prayed the rosary, for instance, Christ would grant us peace.”
God never told us He would grant us peace in exchange for a special set of prayers said in a certain order of repetition. Actually, He promised us there would always be war, disaster and poverty until He returned.
I read His Book. The ending is out of this world.
For some reason I’m now thinking of the scene from “The Golden Child” with the Tibetten prayer wheels when Eddie Murphy moved it like a turn-table and rapped, “I...I...I want the knife.”
Dunno. What do you think?
It’s the same with the sacred name cult. Only they won’t use the New Testament name Jesus.
It would tend to make me think that they have religion instead of true relationship....
Indeed it is. And a pagan religion at that.
I think it is revealing - intentional or not - it's admitting that Mariolatry is a big part of Roman Catholicism.
And for me, after reading the copious drivel from a certain RC on this thread I can’t help but think of HAL the computer in 2001 Space Odyssey.
Never underestimate the power of a good rationalization.
....”God never told us He would grant us peace in exchange for a special set of prayers said in a certain order of repetition”.......
They seek a worldy Peace from imaginations they create in their heads...... Jesus gives better...
In John 16:33 He encourages us.....”I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you ‘will have trouble’.... But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Philippians 4:7....”And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in ‘Christ Jesus’
He is Himself our Peace.!!! Not Mary, not ever!
>> “I think it is revealing - intentional or not - it’s admitting that Mariolatry is a big part of Roman Catholicism.” <<
.
If you removed the Maryolatry, and the proxy sun god worship, there would be nothing left but the soft humanism of art collecting.
.
....”Jesus told us to go directly before the throne of the Father in Jesus name”
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace,....” we don’t have to go thru a bunch of jewelry beads....
“If you removed the Maryolatry, and the proxy sun god worship, there would be nothing left but the soft humanism of art collecting.”
QUOTE OF THE YEAR!!
Correct! ;-) Theotokos is blasphemous. Nestorius was right, and Cyril and his ilk were wrong. Perhaps God used it to plant the seeds of the reformation and send the Gospel to Asia. Marco Polo recounted meeting Nestorian Christians all the way to Xanadu.
I can see that any further time on this thread would be wasted. I wish you all well and hope that you will someday stop your hatred for the Catholic Church. It is truly a full and beautiful faith in Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Not only do we have the Scriptures but we also have many lives, stories and traditions to help guide us. We have many prayers, only one of which is the Rosary, which is a complete meditation on the life of our Lord. You are so mistaken about my love and faith in God and the religion that keeps us all together. It is not pagan in any way shape or form. It doesn’t matter to you that Catholics on here have told you over and over again. You continue to be blind to the truth and it is truly just too frustrating for this busy momma to keep trying. The absurdity of posts on here about Catholics is just stunning. I will exit this thread now and again, truly wish you all a good night.
The paganism of the Catholic Church is glaring and obvious. The Church itself admits that it includes pagan practices as do Catholic scholars. For practicing Catholics to deny that is preposterous. They are truly risking their eternal future.
I doubt it.
Isaiah 14:18
All the kings of the nations,
All of them, sleep in glory,
Everyone in his own house;
Why?
She's dead, Jim!
It's almost as good as Rome's; isn't it...
