Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.
But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:
"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.
As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...
Thank you for the post; my mother was anti-Catholic (her Lutheran father made her attend an all-girls Catholic school in at attempt to keep her from marrying young and she hated that he did that), and after she died in ‘08, one of her very best friends, a daily-Mass Catholic who also leads the rosary (go figure!), told me, “You have no idea how much your mother hated the Catholic Church. She balled ME out when you decided to marry a Catholic, then converted, and I didn’t even know you back then.” :)
Even a child could admit that Jesus alone is sufficient for salvation.
Based on all that nonsense you just posted you really don't seem to understand what we've been saying all along.
We don't need magic rituals, goddesses, dessicated corpses, secret codes, etc... to enter the Kingdom of God.
All we need is to Believe on Him who gave Himself over for our Salvation.
You can keep your traditions, rituals and necromancy. I've rejected the architect of those abominations and all of his empty promises.
Jesus alone is Necessary, Sufficient and Crucial.
Mary is Dead!
I believe Mary is absent from the body standing with all the others who died in Christ awaiting restoration to a glorified body.
I believe she is waiting along with her husband Joseph, their children, the Apostles and all who put their faith on Him.
Christians are commanded to pray without ceasing.
And nobody has to be *on their knees* to do it.
There’s a story of a man who had trouble praying effectively. He prayed on his knees but his pants got wrinkled. He prayed lying down but fell asleep. He prayed sitting in a chair but it didn’t seem respectful.
He walked out into the countryside to consider his dilema. Deep in thought he failed to see the open well so he stumbled and fell down into it head first...and prayed like he never prayed before!
If you could only witness the DAILY Mass Catholics, though, with their well worn-out missals
Why not simply open the Bible. You might learn a lot that hasn’t made it into the missal.

God said He would be with His chosen "called out assembly" (ekklesia) regardless of local. He promised to send the Holy Spirit to guide each individual who becomes part of that assembly. The Spirit filled members of that assembly are to be the pillars and suporters of the truth of the gospel as preached by the apostles. We are to defend, support, and uphold that gospel truth from where He has placed us and by what means He has given us. I believe He meant what He said and has always fulfilled His promises to us.
