Pope Francis, "If Mary is not your Mother, you are an orphan!"

Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.
But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:
"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.
As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...

And Catholics take it one step farther and make it permanent and include it in their worship.

Or simply pointing out and illustrating the fascination and dedication Catholics have for it.

Which then goes back to the discussion about being proud of one’s denomination/church.
BTW, a ‘denomination’ is nothing more than a broad approach toward living out one’s Christianity.

>>Youve spent decades of your life studying theology and hours upon hours kneeling in prayer daily?<<
Catholics don't study theology, they study Catholicism. They don't tell us to study scripture, they tell us to study the Catholic Catechism.

Christians are commanded to pray without ceasing.
And nobody has to be *on their knees* to do it.

>>The CCC is not Divinely Inspired. It is neither prescriptive nor proscriptive, in that all tenets of faith are grounded in other sources that are Divinely Inspired.<<
Would you please produce for us the "Divinely Inspired" source for the apostles teaching of the assumption of Mary. Please keep in mind that we are told that if the apostles didn't teach it the teacher was to be considere accursed.
Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

>>Maybe protestants shouldn't be interjecting their post-modern revisionist sensibilities<<
Post modern? The practices of the Catholic Church have been shown to have their source in Babylonian paganism. It has been shown that the Catholic Church readily admits many of her beliefs and practices originate in paganism. It has been shown that God said not to include pagan practices in serving Him. Hardly "post modern sensibilities".

I suppose that accusing someone who is exposing something that really ought to be an embarrassment to them, of being fascinated or obsessed by it is typical distraction technique. But people do see it for what it is. You tried.
The skulls are interesting to read about. Faithful Catholics are not embarrassed by them. I was getting tired, hence the one-liner, but being overly fascinated with an aspect of the Catholic Church that one doesn't understand (or make much effort to understand) is obsessing in the wrong direction, imo.
I don't think you answered my question (or I missed it) about whether you ever partook of the Sacraments FREQUENTLY when you were a Catholic. That is how Catholics grow deeper in their faith through the understanding of and reception of the Eucharist (confession and adoration too). Otherwise one can perilously end up a LUKEWARM Catholic, the scourge of the earth.
St. Patrick's Breastplate
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
of the Creator of creation.
I arise today
Through the strength of Christ's birth with His baptism,
Through the strength of His crucifixion with His burial,
Through the strength of His resurrection with His ascension,
Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom....
Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
of the Creator of creation. -prayer attributed to St. Patrick

Please show where the concept of "denominations" was taught by the apostles that we should understand their "wholesomeness".

Well, then, I answered that when I say that I use the Bible.
But that is not how the people who have been asking are referring to *denominations*.
They specifically state *church* as in *what church do you go to?*.
So your rather loose and vague definition of *denomination* does not fit the mainstream.

All those churches with the bones and body parts were non Catholic? Really? You had better tell the Catholics. They will be shocked.

I don't think you answered my question (or I missed it) about whether you ever partook of the Sacraments FREQUENTLY when you were a Catholic. Actually, I missed the question.
When I was growing up, I went to mass weekly and took communion fairly regularly.
I can't necessarily recall exactly how often. There are a lot of things I do even today that I do out of such habit that I wouldn't tell you how often I do them.
Plus, that goes back some 40 years minimum.
Christians grow by reading God's word, which is spiritual food for our spirit and soul, and praying, and obeying.

Yes, thank you! Some nons have a habit of getting carried away and throwing up whatever, without necessarily researching it first, but I wasn't certain. Thanks again.

Those people bowing down to, carrying, kissing, and showing adoration to those bones sure looked like Catholics. And didn’t those churches with all the bones, bodies, and body parts have Catholic names?

I agree with this. If you could only witness the DAILY Mass Catholics, though, with their well worn-out missals, and their respectful attention, pouring over (and listening to) Christ's word. Scott Hahn was brought to the faith in part because of the profound effect [of the Eucharist] he witnessed on the daily Mass participants. They are the foot soldiers of Christ.
