Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.
But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:
"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.
As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...
So, then, a skeleton in a physiology classroom wouldn’t bother you?
No I didn't.
The image of Jesus still nailed to the cross portrays an impotent Jesus, which is not the same thing at all as saying the crucified Christ is impotent.
Nice try though.
Badgering gets old...
Must be especially acute for those unwilling to share their denomination....perhaps out of fear of rejection or something like that.
Every day I find one more reason to be grateful to God for rescuing me from Catholicism........
Here's the back side of the skull in Rome...said it was broken while the two sides fought over it...but stories abound on who can really claim John's skull.....these two Catholic Churches admit that they do support Catholic priests who have fought over a skull, and broken it into at least two pieces.
You and yours keep going on about “fear” of skulls and bones. The rest of us are saying it's tasteless and unhygienic.
Well said!
There are enough pieces of “The True Cross” that if you were to put them all together you could build a vessel the size of Noah’s Ark.
I'm not harassing anyone. I'm establishing credentials to make these comments a two way conversation. I would find someone suspicious who bashed others on a particular subject but wouldn't share their own position on that subject.
And I get it from Jesus.
Luke 6:42 -- "41 "Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?"
I’ve been in many a church building in Europe and they have a penchant for displaying their dead heroes. It doesn’t seem to bother them.
It’s probably more unhygienic to get coughed on while shaking hands after the service. And just as tasteless.
I already answered the question.
But a skeleton in a church building does bother you?
That's right...but to not do so in catholism would mean a great deal lost in revenue these bones and relics bring into the leaderships coffers....not to mention these keep catholics "engaged" with "something else" other than seeking Jesus.
Sometimes when reading the exchanges on the threads between catholics.... it sounds more like Archy and Edith Bunker attempting to communicate!..LOL..I got to say I've been LOL on more than a few occasions...and just shaking my head at other times.
For that reason, ask a question once or twice and then let it go. If there is no answer, then that is the answer.

When a child soils a diaper do you discard the results or do you kiss them and cherish them?
There are other ways
So you think a skeleton is like a soiled diaper?
Is the nation of Isreal now being regathered? Here's another for your study.
Ezekiel 37:11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. 12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. 13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, 14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.
The "graves" were the lands the Israelites were scattered among. They are now being regatherd just as was prophesized.
>>Ooooie, eeeeery, scarrrrry?<<
Watching prophesy come true? No way.
Some are just grasping at straws...they’ve been taught about Ezekiels dry bones... but as with most teachings they get it’s layered and twisted to fit what they want it to mean, in order to maintain their traditions and rituals... rather then what God would show them it means otherwise.
This relic is a portion of a Caput (head), that many believe to be from John the Baptist, who is kaput (German, destroyed). Well, his body was.
