Pope Francis, "If Mary is not your Mother, you are an orphan!"
Charisma News ^ | 9/5/2014 | Jennifer LeClaire

Posted on 09/11/2014 11:19:06 AM PDT by Jan_Sobieski

Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.

But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:

"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.

As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...

<<<<<...." How do you dare to presume what Christianity is?....>>>>>

I don't presume....Jesus said in His Word......

...."These things ....'I have written'....... 'to you who believe in the name of the Son of God"....., so that you may KNOW that you have eternal life.....(John 5:13)

God's word further states....

..."We know also that the Son of God has come and 'has given us understanding', ........(1 John 5:20)

Additionally it is written...

...."Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony..... Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, ...because they have not believed 'the testimony' God has given about his Son.

and further...." if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord,..... Choose you this day whom ye will serve;........ whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites,.... in whose land ye dwell:...... but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord........(Joshua 24:15)

Still dodging. Willing to pick at others’ denominations but not willing to say what your own is. I would call that a dishonest conversation. For all I know you’re a Buddhist trolling on a Christian site for laughs or disruption.

I have. Multiple times. And yet I still don’t believe the same way you do. Plus I’m still Catholic.

It certainly has nothing to do with Passover,

Yes, it does. The primary issue is a celebration of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection at the same TIME. Since those events happened at Passover, that is why it is called Pascha.

They are the ones who identifies themselves by denomination affiliation. I don't.

Then it would be celebrated on the correct day rather then the day set for the pagan feast.

Thought this was good from Michael Voris (there's more at the link):
So many Catholics are preconditioned by the culture to approach the Throne of God as though He were a drinking fountain—something refreshing at your disposal and on your terms.

There has entered into the spiritual life of many Catholics the heresy of the prosperity gospel of various protestant cults. God gives us what we need to be saved. To those He is very intimate with, He grants special favors out of His overwhelming love for them— and He does love some people more than He loves others because His love is received by them in greater measure.

They have a greater capacity to receive and return His love, so they experience more of His love. But what has prepared them for this love, what has readied them to have a greater capacity, is the Cross, the struggle, life in the spiritual desert.

They have become almost totally dependent on Him for everything, and therefore He draws them to Himself more closely and grants them what they desire because what they desire is Him and His will.

This depth of spirituality is not possible without the Cross and without a rejection of the childish need for consolations and superficial emotionalism. Sometimes, for many, the weight of the Cross, the lack of consolation is so burdensome that the person is on the verge of giving up.

This is where the greatest strides are made—at that precise moment. Like an athlete lifting weights does not realize the full gain until the last agonizing lift, or the runner doesn’t achieve the runner’s high until the body has been pushed to its maximum endurance, so the soul does not grow until the moment of pain.

Thinking someone knows what a sunrise service is has nothing to do with reading minds. You know it, too.

It is celebrated on the correct day. The first day of the week...Sunday.

Maybe in your opinion it is wrong, but in the eyes of more than a billion people, it is the one true faith started over 2000 years ago by Our Lord himself.

It is Scripture that is guiding us, not an "opinion". Numbers do nothing to establish anything other than mass deception! (sic) Satan is a master at deception and will take as many, as possible, with him into the pits of hell.

Jesus is head of THE church, which is the entire group of believers! Believe it or not!

John 1 :9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. ...

... Romans 8: 14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

I wouldn’t worry much about what CynicalBear says. He could be a Buddhist troll on a Christian site for all we know.

Interesting. I've wondered about that myself, because the arguments are so repetitive (and have gone on for [at the very least] the 6-7 years I've been here). Or as my better half has said, "Let me know when you come up with something new, and we'll talk."

More Catholic propaganda with twist of scripture and non scriptural error.

>>They have become almost totally dependent on Him for everything,<<

Well, there goes those who rely on Mary and then so called saints to do things for them.

Guess you’ll just have to ping the religion mod.

But, I was here when the forum rules were written. I know the difference, and assuming a regular participant in a religion forum knows knowledge common to everyone in our culture....the time and reason for a sunrise service...is hardly mind reading.

But, feel free. Tattle if you like.

In the meantime, why are you trolling a Christian site for an anonymous group that you refuse to divulge?

It is in the bible. First day of the week. Look it up.

Luke 24: 1But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb,…

LOL. Do you see Buddhists quoting scripture and professing Christ alone as their savior quite often?

Considering that scripture hasn't changed in all that time one would think that wouldn't surprise.
