Email from Joel Osteen. I have posted the daily email that Joel Osteen sends out. Ordinarily people are not allowed to debate this email. In this case you may but please be respectful of others who may follow Osteen.

What does that mean the normally people are not allowed to debate the email?
Focus seems to be on what we do, verses the victory that God gives us over the sin of our lives when he forgives us and regenerates us when we are Born Again in him.
Same fatal flaw that many so-called ministers of Christ are caught in.
I’m sorry, but there’s just something about that man that bothers me so much that even though he says things I may like I have difficulty believing that he believes his own words.
Normally when Osteen’s emails are posted by the Osteen poster no debate is allowed on Osteen’s teachings.
Why is that? It seems like there is debate on everything at FR. Why the difference.
It has nothing to do with Osteen per se. I'm assuming the Osteen threads you refer to are the ones tagged as devotional threads? Anyone is welcome to debate Osteen's message in the Religion Forum - just not on that type of thread.
Osteenites hide behind the “devotional” label, which means no disagreement allowed.

I'm sorry but its just beyond the pale to think just saying something is going to get you to heaven....
God wants us to pray and trust in HIM, but we are also to act in a good Christian way...
Interesting take on the parable. But, that parable is not about the seed (God’s word) - it is about the soil (our hearts).
There are other, better scriptures that could be used to talk about what types of “seeds” we should be nurturing in ourselves.
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” (Col 3:1-3)
I can’t see why anyone would be prohibited from posting the same material without the devotional label? I mean, it’s not really a duplicate thread if no one can discuss it in the devotional thread.
Oh wait, I guess that’s what we’re doing here.
It’s ridiculous to have it as a devotional since it contains so much apostasy.

Sal, the whole concept of devotional threads is bogus. Everyone’s ox should be available for goring in a forum such as ours. Those who want devotions should go to their respective websites.
I think what it means is you are not allowed to criticize Joel Osteen. :-)
