After the kidnapping of more than 500 Yazidi girls by Islamic State (IS) militants, the women are being sold in Quds Neighborhood in Mosul through a special office.
The Head of The Women’s Committee in the Kurdistan Parliament, Evar Ibrahim, told BasNews, “After kidnapping 500 Yazidi girls from Sinjar and taking them to Mosul, the IS insurgents are now, through a special office in the Quds Neighborhood of the city, selling them to people.”
“The price of each girl starts from IQD 20,000 [US $17] to 30,000 [$26]. Despite selling them, the Yazidi girls have been raped by the IS insurgents,’ Added the Kurdish MP.
She mentioned that after the committee has gathered further information, they will reveal the complete story to the media and public.
According to BasNews sources in the city some of the Christian families that have now fled to France are calling on countries around the world to rescue Christians and Yazidis from Mosul because women are being raped and sold.
The families have also pointed out that Christians and Yazidis are taxed by IS militants. The women get raped and sold and their husbands get killed.
The neighborhood where Yazidi and Christian women get sold has become the busiest place in Mosul.
Earlier this week, IS insurgents attacked the Yazidi-majority village of Kojo and after killing more than 300 men of the village, they took all the women to Mosul. Some of them were reportedly raped and others were.
I would advocate rescuing hostages by force, superior firepower, stealth, vengeance, and annihilation, Not money to finance further jihad.
