Very sad, and I hope that this parish is saved. However, I would caution against using a term like 'extinction,' which implies that it is within the power of Cardinal Dolan or his ilk to permanently kill off the traditional Latin Mass. He can't. Oh, of course, Dolan could rid New York of the traditional Mass for a few months, or even a few years, but somehow, some way, the Mass will be back sooner or later. It's a light that cannot be extinguished.

The best way for traditional Catholics to protect the Latin Mass is to keep it out of diocesan churches in the first place. The Latin Mass has flourished for years through orders like the Fraternity of St. Peter (who often maintains ties to a local bishop that are loose at best) and the Society of Pius X (who don’t give a sh!t about local bishops at all).
