One thing that makes abortion worse, is how so many women pretend that they didn’t have one. I hear stories posted (on here frequently) about how ‘good girls’ sermonize about how getting an abortion did to them, but apparently got several before they realized they were living their lives wrong.

So while I support birth control, I will freely state that plain stupidity is the root of many women accidentally getting pregnant. So many of them have some kind of amnesia about how they got into bed with a man and I frequently think they see themselves as so ‘good,’ (in the context of the Pharisees) that they can’t connect their behavior with the need to get an abortion in the first place.

For example, some women say “The next thing I knew, we were in bed together and having sex and it was over”, as if there is some kind of magic spell that causes woman in question to be in bed and done having sex with a man. I believe that there will be abortion as long as women stupidly:

A) Have sex in the first place
B) Have unprotected sex
C) Refuse to connect actions with results
D) Refuse to take responsibility for their choices

I ironically wonder how many of these Pharisee hypocrites don’t tell their future spouses or current spouses about the number of abortions on their medical records. Stories like these are the reason that I’ve made it a choice to abstain until marriage (after a relationship I regret) and I am happy to state that at the end of this summer I will be celebrating ten years of abstinence.

That same kind of magical thinking is common in our culture these days and we see it when the ignorant say that a gun 'just went off' or when they say they 'believe in global warming' as if it were a religion. Is it then no surprise that people blame the shortcomings of their own actions on supernatural sources? They've never taken responsibility for their own actions and they never will.
